In the course of last year, Nollywood actress, Genevieve Nnaji had the privilege of working with some top Hollywood actors on the set of Chimamanda Adiche’s Half of A Yellow Sun.
But it appears the actress would not have the pleasure of seeing her scenes when the yet-to-be-released movie, directed by Niyi Bandele, goes to the cinemas. Olufamous.com gathered that Genevieve’s scenes weren’t important to the story and has thus been deleted.
A reliable source who has seen the movie said, “I figured that because of Ms Nnaji’s way of acting, her character dragged the storyline, so it was cut out during editing."
Speaking further the source said, “Her minor role was [just a] compensation to Nollywood... she should not try to go to the cinemas to see the film with her family members, else she will give herself heartache.”
I hear that Genevieve will only be seen in a party scene in the finished Half of A Yellow Sun movie.
A role they should have given good actress like Omotola but bcos of tribalism they handed it to Genny who has only one way of acting, no dynamism....*yinmu*... Biola
