My boyfriend proposed to me during the Christmas holidays but didn't give me a ring because he couldn't afford to buy me one he knows I will appreciate.
He told me he will get me the ring before our wedding in August but it's becoming embarrassing because whenever I tell people I'm engaged they look at my fingers to see the ring and there's nothing there.
Ever since I saw Tiwa Savage's engagement ring I've been feeling really sad. I make far more money than my fiance and can afford to buy the ring of my dreams. Should I go ahead and buy my own engagement ring?
My boyfriend will be mad with me if I buy the ring myself but I really need one. Pls, what should I do?

ReplyDeleteI really think it has more to do with his ego/ pride as a man. He wants to get you the ring himself. Let him try to raise the money himself, and Even if the money is coming from you, it must be in a subtle way, such that he would even feel he made the money himself. I know it's not easy for a guy to not have money to buy something for his lady and that hurts him and he would love to do it himself becos thats what he needs to do, cos you ladies know that in the process of time when things get out of hand, you are the sameones that would accuse him and tell your friends that it was you who gave me money to even buy the ring and you would laugh him and make fun of him.
ReplyDeleteI can only advise that you can help him get a contract to do or some additional work to generate money that he would do himself and know it comes from him and when he generates the money outside his normal salary job, he would buy the ring for you. What link do you have that can make him do a work somewhere while he still does his main job to get money, that would make him happy and he would be able to buy what he can for you.
