I Don't Owe Nigerians Any Apology -- Jonathan Boasts About Alamieyeseigha's Pardon

Sad but true; President Goodluck Jonathan has confirmed the granting of presidential pardon to his brother and former Governor of Bayelsa State, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, who confessed to stealing billions of Naira. Jonathan said he has no apology for any Nigerian who is angered by his action.

Speaking through Doyin Okupe, his assistant on public affairs, President Jonathan said:
“That is an action that has been taken by the National Council of States and I have no apology for that. We must begin to respect and honour our institutions. I don’t need to defend the action that has been taken.

“It is not all decisions parents take that are palatable for their kids. But with time they will realize that their parents are right.

“A man was deposed. He was hounded, tried and jail. What is wrong with giving pardon to a remorseful sinner? How come granting pardon to him has become an aberration? Is it because he is from Bayelsa? Is it because he is from South-South? Is it because he is connected to Mr. President?”

  8. Power especially in nigeria is not perennial.
Some decisions and actions taken by the government must be reverted and culprits punished with their collaborators.
    That is assured.
No amount of scientific rigging in the next election will bring you back to office.
That's one thing I like about the northern moslems.
Once they (northern ) take decision, it stand and nobody will change it.
If the president wants to divide the country through demagogic style I wish him the best of luck to succeed.
Nigeria cannot remain like this forever. There must be draconian change.

    1. Welldone,Mr president!REFEREE'S decision on the field of play is final, but what happen after the game?Posterity shall judge all of you according to your handiworks. It is now obvious that you are not better than Alam, the ex-convict.What do you even know about pardon and forgiveness?FORGIVENESS IS DIVINE BECAUSE ONLY GOD CAN TRULY FORGIVE.Who are you to tell us that the man is remorseful?Watch your tongue because you are also going to prison in 2015.A MAN WILL RISE AND WILL BECOME THE PRESIDENT-HE WILL JAIL ALL THE PAST H.O.S INCLUDING YOU AND HE WILL SET DEATH PENALTY FOR ALL CORRUPT POLITICIANS.NOBODY WILL BE READY TO HELP YOU THEN.YOUR GODFATHER WILL POISON HIMSELF AND YOUR FAMILY WILL GO TO EXILE.WHY ARE YOU ALL AFRAID OF BUHARI?-HE IS THE JEHU OF THIS COUNTRY AND YOU CANNOT STOP HIM.THE STAGE IS SET AND THERE SHALL BE MANIFESTATIONS.
