The battle for the office of the President of Nigeria come 2015 is one that would be very interesting as the top gladiators are already eyeing prime positions, not wanting to be taking unawares.
As a follow up in his move to beg Obasanjo to "forgive and forget", President Jonathan visited him in his home in Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Saturday behind closed doors for two hours, using the burial of Reuben Abati's mother as a subterfuge.
Security was tight as Jonathan was said to have come out very sober and showing signs that he really wanted the man who helped him overcome the heat from the North in 2011 to support him again.
Once again, OluFamous.Com gathered that Obasanjo refused to make any commitments to Jonathan as if he knew what was going to happen after Jonathan's departure. He simply advised him to consult widely before embarking on any re-election move.
Snippets of information at the disposal of OluFamous.Com is that ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo is the man in the center of the main "plot" of both President Goodluck Jonathan and the Northern governors who are bent on taking over the Presidency from him...

Aliyu Wammako (Sokoto), Murtala Nyako (Adamawa), Rabiu Kwankwaso (Kano) Sule Lamido (Jigawa).
Their meeting with Baba was also a closed-door affair. It was gathered that they actually went to make sure they have a better bargain with Obasanjo, irrespective of whatever Jonathan would have told him.

Obasanjo, you may wish to known, is of the view that power should go back to the North in 2015.
Anyway, Governor Nyako spoke with the press after their meeting with Obasanjo, saying the ex-President remains the most accomplished Nigerian politician "and he will remain as such ever."
He admitted that: "We have come to consult him with him on important matters."

I doubt if Obasanjo will ever support Jonathan again after all the insult from Gulak and co
ReplyDeletePDP will insist on fielding Jonathan so these guys should join the opposition b4 its too late
ReplyDeleteJonathan just went there but nobody can stop him from winning in 2015. Nobody!
ReplyDeleteHon Tony
Abeg enough of PDP in this country O
ReplyDeleteI doubt if he could find the favour of Baba Iyabo this time around. By human standard he had let OBJ down considering how he channeled him (Jonathan) to the Presidency and how he turned back to him after attaining power. Anyway, there's no permanent enemy in politics is the common say but when it comes to the game OBJ can play it better than Goodluck and his advisers. Let's see how it goes. Peter
ReplyDeleteOBJ we are loyal, we will vote for whoever u endorse.. I luv this game called POLITICS.
