It has now been confirmed that one of the ladies who was brutally tortured by some men in Ejigbo Lagos in 2013 has died. The woman who was identified as Julie was said to have been brought from her home town in Topa, Badagry, to work as a canteen attendant in the market.
It was also gathered that three women were tortured and not two as seen in the videos. The third woman is the mother of the two ladies shown in the video.
He added that his wife and daughters were tortured by members of the Odua People’s Congress, OPC, who later sacked him from his apartment.
Oh dear...this is really sad. I hope the authorities can get those guys and make them pay for the crime!

May her gentle Soul Rest in peace. And may the Evil men Languish in Deep Pain all their days
ReplyDeleteIt's obvious that the husband to the woman knows the culprits. The authorities shld invite him and he will lead them to those culprits.Lobatan.
ReplyDeleteI have been following this story since I saw the video and I think I have discharge my duty as a true Nigerian.I am glad that atleast these women can get justice. Let us look beyond what happened to these women and start the process of putting in place laws that that will ensure that this do not occur again to our women. Laws that will protect them from rape, torture, dehumanisation and brutalisation. The guys in the video will know no peace until those women get justice. That is all I crave and pray for. Thank you Dr. Joe Odumakin.
ReplyDeleteBut come to think of it, why is it difficult to get this guys? somebody employed them to guide the market, someone is the OPC coordinator in the Area. The chairman was the most pathetic and unreasonable chairman I have ever seen. I never knew the issue happened in February, I saw the video in December on a boy's phone and decided to raise public sympathy for the ladies. My heart is with the family at this their sober mood.
If the police is sincere... why should it take them this long to arrest these a**holes?
ReplyDeleteChai what a life
ReplyDeleteThose guys should just go and seek for forgiveness before its too late! Zainab
ReplyDeleteIt is really sad the way people do bad things
ReplyDeleteOh no that is sad....RIP
ReplyDeleteBut how come Nigeria Police has not arrested anyone in connection with this babaric act? Shina
ReplyDeleteWhen I read that the state house of assembly is sitting and enquire on this matter it saddened my heart. The video clip is evidence enough to arrest the culprit of this dehumanization. Can they be recognized through their voice ? If one of the women died what about the remaining two ? Can't they identify the scene it took place ? What about their boss that reported them to these animals in human skin ? There's no need to set up panel of enquiry on this issue if indeed they don't want to sweep it under the carpet . Justice is the only thing these women deserved and that is what they must get.

ReplyDeleteWhen people are agitating for Sharia look at what this innocent girl have faced now. The sharia would look at the gravity of the offence and judge accordingly and would not leave a hooligans to just take the law into their hands.
