According to a statement by Director, Army Public Relations, Brig. Gen. Sani Usman, the convoy of the two senior military officers came across four hidden Improvised Explosive Devices during their journey to Bama, Borno State.
The statement said that the convoy cleared four Improvised Explosive Devices buried by suspected Boko Haram terrorists along their way from Bama to Gwoza at about 10am on Saturday.
Usman said, “They encountered the four clustered IEDs buried at a point along the Banki Junction and Pulka Road about six kilometres to Firgi in Borno State.
“The Explosive Ordinance Device team was, however, able to quickly detect the IEDs and defused them.”
