After debating the performance of the 2012 budget and an in-depth analysis of the 2013 Appropriation Bill, the Senate, however, blamed the executive for poor implementation of the previous budget, just as the lawmakers called for effective implementation of the 2013 budget.

Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, on Thursday said recent developments in Nigeria portrayed it as a country at war. He described the continuous killings in parts of the country as an ongoing war between the forces of good and evil.

Soyinka, who condemned the murder of four students of the University of Port Harcourt and the Mubi killings, noted that the forces of evil were out to wipe out any trace of enlightenment and creativity in the country.

D’Banj Emerges Best African Act at 2012 MTV Europe Music Awards

Nigerian superstar, D’Banj has been named the Best African Act of the 2012 MTV Europe Music Awards, having received the most votes from fans across sub-Saharan Africa.

Consequently, D’Banj will now compete against India’s Alobo Naga and Ahmed Soultan from the Middle East for the chance to represent the region in the Worldwide Act category.

Another N1billion Set Aside for Refreshment In 2013 Budget

Many Nigerians are yet to come to terms with the rationale behind the billions of Naira set aside for feeding, cooking gas, generator fuelling and maintenance, and such other frivolities in the 2013 budget submitted to the National Assembly by President Goodluck Jonathan.

Why Nigeria Kickboxing Team to Madagascar 2012 Deserve Our Commendation

The Nigerian National Kickboxing team went to African Kickboxing Championships held in Antananarivo Madagascar from the 27th till the 30th of September 2012.

Due to funds we were only able to sponsor 3 Athletes and 1 coach and the team did well; they came back with 1 Gold, 1 Silver and 1 bronze Medal, a Total of twelve African countries competed in the championships which was also the regions qualifiers for the World combat games 2013 in St Petersburg, Russia.

By this feat Nigeria has qualified two athletes to represent the African continent at the World Combat games in Russia 2013.
