MATTERS ARISING: We can see that anyone of us living in Nigeria could easily have been any of the characters in 1 - 9 above depending on our location and vocation as at the time of the incident. And our actions would seem ok to us in the heat of the moment. All because our justice system has collapsed!
We can see that all of the actors are guilty of the same thing: taking law into their own hands.

Except the government strengthens our institutions in the country, including judicial system, we will continue to witness citizen's victimizing and traumatizing each other just to get by in all spheres of life, owing to systemic failure in the polity.
In as much as we condemn the Aluu lynching, let us truthfully reflect; any of us could have been any of the characters involved all because our state is failing!

If gold rust, what is expected of iron. The judicial procedures in nigeria,if not checked may lead to total muckry of d system. Did u know that many are ready to spend any amount to close a crime @ d police station? & police because of this long procedures of court s process has turned d station to bail market.may God help us ijn

ReplyDeleteWe need to hear d version of the so called guy that was owing them money! We need to hear frm the cult boy that escaped as d vigilantes were aPproaching. Why did they chose to go and collect debt at d dead of d night? Until all these lose ends r tied up,this issue will never go away. When we get d true facts of this case,u will see that no one was an ANGEL in this case.In as much as d Justice system failed us,the recklessness and wickedness of Armed Robbery must be checked. No society wants to live in fear and hoplessness when attacked! When ur back is turned against d wall,u fight back!!
ReplyDeleteTrue Talk Mr Olu Famous ; -)
ReplyDeleteAnd the poor boys resort to stealing.Reason: They did not believe in the economy and took laws into their hand?
ReplyDeleteAnd Dana airline bought fake aeroplane Reason: They did not have enough money for good planes and decide to cut corner?
People will always ave reasons for whatever evil deed they commit
This is the best write up I have come across on Olu famous and it is obvious that all the comments are made by intellectuals..... D

ReplyDeleteYOU WILL DIE SOON.
DeleteI have to disagree with you here. Judiciary or no judiciary, I dont care at this point. If the debtors laptop and blackberry phone was taken away because he owed money to the creditor, then the stupid incompetent fool of a chief of that town should have been able to resolve the issue.Afterall, civil cases can still be treated within the community before approaching the judiciary. The idiot of a chief should have listened to both sides, but rather he was partial knowing they boys were strangers to the community, that was why he ordered his community to lynch they boys.Aluu community is guilty as charged and must face the wrath.
ReplyDeletecorrect
DeleteNice comment
DeleteI will not agree with u guys. what is wrong is wrong. the behavior of the 5 boys is questionable. 12am is ungodly hour.
DeleteI agree wt anon 18:30. Irrespective of wot any1 has done, NO ONE has d rut 2 tk life. No one is guilty until convicted, dts y d term suspect is used. While I agree wt anon 20:11 dt d guys went out @ d rong time, we all knw it's almost normal practice 2 go a debtor's @ a time he/she is expected to be hme. Som wil go vry early in d mornin. Wot d Allu community did is 2 xtreme n barbaric. I as a person do not agree wt d above piece 100%. Seyi Ogunsua can write all ds cos he's nt related 2 any of d victims n can't totally feel dia pain. Let us condemn jungle justice irrespective of s circumstances. We shld remember dt we r d future of ds country, evn if our leaders r nt doin wot is right, wen we gt dia we can mk corrections. And for those of u who say notin gd can kom frm ur country, u r totally wrong. As bad as things r, we shld confess positively. Nigerians in diaspora r doin odd n dirty jobs. Doctors and other professionals r doin dirty jobs. Let's speak wel n contribute our quota 2 mk our country a beta place so our children can kom bck n do more dignifying jobs. I cld go on and on. God bless nigeria
DeleteRubbish, taking laws into your hands should not be exercised to the extent of killing, I totally disagree with this. The boy who was owed money should have come out to say the truth when he saw things going to the extent that they were going to kill the boys.
ReplyDeleteVery wrong. how can u go and draw debt by 12am. that is robbery. this boys are cult boys. how many poor innocent students have died in the hands of this so call cult guys.
ReplyDeleteAll those who tried to give one reason or d other for d aluu killings are all idiots. Having killed an accused before hearing his own side of d story, what gives any one the right to call them thieves or cultist. At this moment, we must continue to presume those boys of being innocent of any alleged crime.therefore, aluu natives had no iota of reason to kill those students the way they did.
ReplyDeleteGod bless u o.
