Founder and Senior Pastor of Harvesthouse Int’l Church (HIC) Abuja, Pastor Sam Oye and his charming wife Mary, were both treated to a fun-filled dinner party to mark his Birthday as well as their eight years of successful journey in Holy Matrimony on Thursday 20th May, 2010.
The event which took place inside HIC auditorium, commenced at about 18:10hrs with a prayer session led by Pastor Seun Bolarinwa. The electrifying mood of the occasion manifested immediately the man of God and his spouse arrived the venue and were ushered to their seats with standing ovation by guests. This was followed by rid-cracking comical performance by an artiste called Baba Africa, which left everyone laughing all the way.
It was indeed a night of fanfare for the Oyes as they savour the ecstatic sentiments on the faces of friends and well-wishers who had come to celebrate with them.
In their separate goodwill speeches, Pastor Glorious Gospel, Mr. Tade and Mrs. Agbaje all chronicled their individual encounters with the family of Sam Oye. They showered accolades on him and his wife for their love, care and character of humility. Thereafter, a classical Poem on ‘Renewal of Vow’ was read in honour of the celebrants by the MCs, Bro. Victor Tanno and Sis. Iye Illah.
The celebrants were supported by selected guests to cut their Anniversary Cake, after which a Toast for God’s guidance, long life and prosperity was proposed by a family friend, Mr. Tade. Then came a brief dance session by the couple, after which they were joined by guests. The Oyes then led the guests from the dance floor to the “Item Seven” arena where all and sundry had plenty to eat and drink.
In his vote of thanks, Pastor Sam, a skilled Leadership Coach, express gratitude to his Pastors, Deacons and other workers for running the affairs of the Church smoothly throughout the period of his absence. He however singled out Pastor Isaiah Emmanuel, the Church’s Resident Pastor, for special recognition and thanked him for holding forth while he was away and encouraged others to emulate him. He thanked the dignitaries that graced the occasion as well as those that put the event together. The occasion thus ended on a joyous mood.
