This was the kind of drama judicial correspondents were treated to at an Agege Customary Court in Lagos recently when a 57-year-old Vulcaniser, Sarafadeen Adejumo, involved in a divorce case with his wife of 26 years came under cross examination. He said their marriage degenerated to such a sorry state because his wife is involved in extra marital affairs.
In his words: “We were at home enjoying ourselves one day when suddenly her phone rang and immediately she went out of the room without her pant. She didn’t return home until 9.30 p.m. She is also involved in extramarital flings with a lawyer. There was a day she held my penis with a fetish ring after which it could not function for three months until I sought solution to it through a native doctor who happens to be a friend of mine.”
He further confessed that he seized a cane from her shop and “use it to flog her whenever she denies me of having sex with her.” As a result of the constant flogging and what she described as irreconcilable differences, his wife, Simbiat, is asking the court to put an end to their 26 years old marriage. They have three children together.
The case was adjourned till October 4, 2011... I really don't know what side I should stand on this matter. A little confusing. Please what do you think?
