The ‘Politics of Dress’ Exhibition Comes to Lagos


Wedding Photographer, Jide Alakija and the Centre for Contemporary Art, Lagos, are inviting the public to Jide’s first solo exhibition tagged: “Owambe, Aso-Ebi and the Politics of Dress”. The exhibition will highlight the disparate social and cultural experiences of the Nigerian society through 130 photographic images.

The images Jide will showcase capture the quintessential characteristic of Nigerian traditional weddings. The exhibition will run from Monday 31st October 2011to Saturday 3rd December 2011. Venue: Centre for Contemporary Art, 9 McEwen Street, Sabo, Yaba, Lagos.
