Governor Rotimi Amaechi Dating Actress Stella Damascus?

There seem to be a new craze for celebrities, particularly Nollywood actresses and actors, by influential politicians in the ranks of Senators, Governors, Ministers, etc. As a result, I usually find it hard to dismiss such stories whenever I come across them. As the caption above indicates, the new buzz in the entertainment industry now is that Stella Damascus is dating the young and amiable Rivers State governor, while another side of the story is that she’s at loggerheads with fellow actress Kate Henshaw-Nupttal over ‘His Excellency’ who, as you all know, is a married man.

Although the story was denied by one of the trio, the news I monitored on ModernGhana read thus:
'Stella Damasus is in the news again! This beautiful widow actress who is not new to scandals is being rumoured to be in sizzling romance with Rivers State governor, Rotimi Amaechi. The romance, according to grapevine sources, started sometime ago when the actress needed the governor's help. And the mother of two, we learnt has been benefiting from the romance which started not too long ago.

Rumour mongers didn't stop at that, they speculated further that she also took another Nollywood actress, Kate Henshaw to meet the handsome and generous governor, but Kate was rumoured to have gone behind Stella to meet with the governor. We gathered further that Stella felt bad about Kate's secret meeting with the governor and she believed that the governor might have started dating her as well.

During our investigations, this reporter called Stella Damasus on phone on 7th September, to react to the speculation about her liaison with the governor and Kate Henshaw and she reacted thus: “I've not met His Excellency, Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi before, I've only heard of his name, I wonder why people kept circulating false story about me. Then concerning Kate Henshaw, we don't have any misunderstanding on any issue. We were together at Niteshift Coliseum with Edi Lawani during Christy Essien programme last week Tuesday”.

Damascus has been linked romantically with Richard Mofe Damijo and other personalities. After she lost her husband, Jaiye Aboderin to the cold hands of death; years after, she got married to Emeka Nzeribe in a traditional marriage but the union lasted only nine months. Effort to speak to Kate Henshaw was futile as she didn't pick our calls when we called her MTN and AIRTEL numbers last week Wednesday'.

Did I hear someone say there’s no smoke without fire? Well, the problem here is that one hasn't been able to identify where this “smoke” is coming from yet.

Audition for 'Next Movie Star' Holds This Weekend

On Saturday September 24th, 2011, the final auditions for this year’s Next Movie Star reality show themed ‘Galaxy of Stars’ will hold at the White House Hotel in Ikeja, Lagos. In this latest edition, 16 housemates will be picked from the regional finalists to participate in the 30-day show and they will be screened by a panel of judges.

Armed Robbers Invade University, Kill One...

The premises of Bowen University in Osun State on Thursday came under serious gunfire from men of the underworld who succeeded in robbing one of the banks inside the institution.  Pandemonium broke out as soon as the robbers started shooting; even as students, teaching and non-teaching staff scampered for their life.

The deadly gang operated unchallenged and escaped, living behind the dead body of a security guard. I gathered that students and staffs have deserted the institution as a result of the incident, but the state police command has asked them to return, assuring them of adequate security.

Actress Stephanie Okereke Lands Mouth Watering Deal

Nollywood A-list actress, Stephanie Okereke, has landed yet another ambassadorial endorsement deal that is said to be worth millions of Naira. According to an insider source, the contract is with LG Electronics and its new 3D phone which the company intends to unveil at the end of September 2011.

The deal is a secret one and the details are being treated as private business but I gathered from a close source that it’s worth about N20 million. My source hinted that monies have already exchanged hands and all is set for her to kick start the activities for which she’s been paid for; which include photo shoots, TV commercials, etc...
