Is it Really True that 'Everybody Loves Ice Prince'?

Hey, hold your breath... No need to jump the gun! The right answer will find its way to the fore in the coming days and weeks, especially after the much talked about launching on 09/10/11 that is just around the corner.

Although most neutral minds like myself cannot forget "Oleku" in a hurry; but I wonder how many people would say the same thing of Ice Prince's second single - "Super Star". No doubt it's a cool song, but it lacks the 'push' that I looked out for in a super track.

After all said, the sincere reactions of the first set of people to buy the complete album and listen to its content will go a long way to further confirm the above statement or, alternatively, put a lie to it... Lets hope it would be the former.

Who Stole Police Salary From Police Micro Finance Bank?

The above question begs for reasonable and acceptable answer as Nigerians are currently being treated to "an action film" in which the main actor has been dealt a cruel blow, that may require some degree of internal cleansing to recover from its after effect. The movie is courtesy of a section of the Nigeria Police Force in Lagos.

I really don't know how else to capture this disturbing story but to present you with the original scoop. Here is how P.M..NEWS captured the incident:

Hopes of scores of policemen in Lagos State to receive their September salaries were dashed this morning (Tuesday) as the N11.7 million meant for their salaries has been stolen. P.M.NEWS investigation this morning revealed that the money was stolen from the Nigerian Police Force Micro Finance Bank situated within Ikeja Police College at GRA.

The money was paid into the bank on Friday yet there was no sign of burglary when it was discovered missing this morning...

Fresh Explosion Rocks Agip Facility in Bayelsa

There were loud explosions from the truck line of the Obama Flow Station of the Agip Oil Company early Monday, which threw the quiet Nember community into commotion.  The explosions and the attendant fire outbreak caused many of the indigenes to boycott a planned activity in the community.

Some even relocated to neighboring communities for fear of more explosions. As the time of this post, the JTF was yet to ascertain if it was an act of sabotage due to earlier text messages sent out by some unknown youths that they would attack the flow line.

In a latest email to Reuters, Agip oil said it had moved in sensitive personnel to effect repairs on the damaged part of the flow station. Indigenes of Tekere community are already complaining that the vandalized pipeline had been leaking crude on their farmlands and creeks.

Kanye West Fails To Impress With His Clothing Line

Rapper, Kanye West, most probably did not bargained for the kind of critic his newly unveiled women collection at the Paris Fashion Week would attract. One person who's really hitting hard at Kanye is Lisa Armstrong of Britain's Daily Telegraph.

Here's what she has to say about the young man's effort: "Kanye West's fashion debut was like being subjected to an hour long Mri scan - but not as much fun... If this is the way fashion's going then anyone with any real talent should seriously consider a career in Tesco [a supermarket chain] instead."

Nevertheless, Eric Wilson of New York Times is among the few who believe he'll do better with time... Kanye also believes he's doing fine and will get there in no time.

Nigerian Woman Dies at Home, Resurfaces in Benin Republic

Her story reads like a thriller: the type only a great novelist could spin. However, the somewhat grace-to-grass context and the many twists and turns of her life’s tale could make some of the classic tragedies spun by dramatist extraordinaire Sophocles of ancient Greece appear less calamitous.

First she died in Nigeria, was properly buried and forgotten, then suddenly she appeared in Benin Republic with a new life. Now she’s dead again. And this seems to be the real dead end. To be candid, ruminating on this woman’s chequered sojourn on earth makes one to remember one of James Hardley Chase’s crime thrillers. This is so because at the end of series of fragmentary sequences; you are still left wondering, if you got this one right.

Initially, telephone numbers purportedly belonging to one of her believed children was flying around. But then, on one occasion during which the said son was traced on phone, he told them that his mother died a long time ago and that he was not going to come to claim the corpse of another woman. He had moved on with his life in northern Nigeria.

Right now, no one is owning up to still have the contact address or phone number of this mystery son. The same story is told of...
