Funke Akindele ‘Desperately’ Needs a Husband

Hey guys, I guess you all know this popular actress who became a household name after one of her movies - Jenifa - became an instant hit, recording sales of millions of copies. But that's not the gist today. Right now, beautiful Nollywood/Yoruba actress, Funke Akindele, is looking forward to getting married to her "Mr. Right" and she needs it badly.

The babe is not getting any younger, but bachelors seem to be looking the other way. Below is what she told a reporter in a recent true confession interview: "Some of my mates have more than three kids today... So people should keep their fingers crossed and pray for Funke Akindele to meet the bone of her bone and the flesh of her flesh and not somebody else.”

To all those guys who are scared of approaching her for marriage, Miss Funke has this to say to them: “You don’t have to let inferiority complex overwhelm you. If God says you are the right person for me, then nothing will stop it.”

Ok now, you guys have heard from the horse's mouth... Be bold and courageous; stop being afraid and approach the babe if you're interested. Please, she need a husband.

Ultimate Search Begins, Pulls Massive Crowd

The reality of poverty and the desperation of youths to escape its scourge came to the fore once again last week when tens of thousands of young Nigerians, most of them jobless, turned out for the regional selection exercise of this year’s edition of Gulder Ultimate Search in Abuja, Benin, Owerri and Lagos.

At the National Stadium in Surulere, venue of the Lagos regional exercise, some young men and women had to pass nights in open spaces in order to be screened early and possibly get selected to compete for the N7 million cash prize up for grabs. Aside from the money, whoever emerged winner of the contest will be entitled to a 2011 Luxury SUV and a N500,000 wardrobe allowance. He or she will also be inducted into what is known as the ‘Gulder Ultimate Search Hall of Fame’.

As a marketing gimmick, the Brand Manager of Gulder, Ita Bassey, described the massive crowd of youths at the screening venues as a reflection of the “popularity of GUS as Nigeria’s longest-running, 100 per cent local content, reality TV programme”... You may wish to know that this year’s edition of the show will parade 30 contestants, as against the usual 10 contestants.

Gunmen Attack Daddy Showkey Again

The residence of Ghetto Soldier, Daddy Showkey, came under gun fire attack few days back in the Ojodu area of Lagos when a four-man gang attempted to gain entrance into his compound but was prevented by the ceaseless barking of guard dogs.

The dare devil criminals were said to have retreated after a few hours of shooting in the air unchecked, promising to ‘visit’ the musician again. Daddy Showkey confirmed the incident, but added that “I might be forced to take up arms against the attackers because the Ajegunle people will not watch me being killed”.

It would be recalled a gang of four men had raided the same residence about four weeks ago, asking for the owner of the house. They were said to have killed his aide in the process, one Wale Suraj. The incident was reported to the divisional police headquarters in Ojodu.

Some say the attack could be politically motivated while others are attributing it to the handiwork of misguided youths... Whatever the case may be, I will keep you guys posted.

Ini Edo Pockets N40m in New Endorsement Deal

Sultry Nollywood actress, Ini Edo, has hit it big once again with the signing of a two-year endorsement deal with the makers of Noble Hair Expression. With this new deal that is worth well over N40m, she will be the face of Noble Hair and other sister products effective September 1, 2011.

The deal, according to an insider source, has been sealed. “I cannot tell you the exact figure, because of the confidentiality clause in the contract. But I can tell you for a fact that the deal is worth over N40 million,” the source disclosed.

This new deal has no doubt made Ini Edo one of the most sought after entertainers in the country, even as her endorsement deal with Globacom was recently renewed for another two years. Recall that she was not too long ago appointed a Youth Envoy by the United Nations.

Pastor Defiles 12-Year-Old Girl Inside Church

The police in Edo State have arrested the pastor and founder of a church who allegedly raped a 12-year-old member of his church. The dastardly act was said to have incurred the wrath of some residents of Esan North-East local government area of the state, who took the law into their hands and destroyed some of the church’s equipment.

Narrating her ordeal to journalists, the rape victim said the incident took place when she went to church for choir rehearsals.
