Craziest Independence Message from a Nigerian…

Is this how we are going to fight the militia groups tormenting us?
Dear Boko Haram and MEND,
I just wanna thank you for saving this country some billions of naira that would have been wasted by forcing the cancellation of public display of madness and show of shame which our so-called selfish leaders would have put us through. In as much as I really don’t like the way you have been shedding innocent blood since, I still commend your cry for justice in this country. If only you can remove the religious sentiments, a lot of frustrated Nigerians who are already tired of all these selfish and wicked leaders with no clues would have supported your moves.

Am sure you will redraw your plans and strategy and make sure we have advance notice like this whenever you are thinking of a strike. Moreover I will urge you to advise your sponsors to please add importation of food items which can be distributed free to our people in the villages who are short of agricultural materials because some people have stolen all the allocations meant for agriculture. More so, help us tell those killing civilians that God doesn’t allow a human being to take another man’s life.

Instead I will advise you to go after those who loot our wealth abroad and warn them to return the loots or else face your music... And finally I will be happy if you can be monitoring our cries on this popular site from time to time to see how we are feeling since we have no government that cares.

Yours fellow Nigerian

The Reason Many Marriages Are Breaking Up

Lack of trust and love is the major culprit. If couples don’t trust themselves, their marriage won’t last. For a marriage to succeed there should be understanding between couples. Although as an African woman, I have come to believe that all African men are polygamous in nature. There is no doubt about that. I have been married for over 30 years; I have seen marriages collapse as a result of lack of trust and love. Marriage is all about endurance. One should not be too suspicious of one’s partner.

Signs that he’s cheating on you: As I said earlier, a man who respects his wife would not show it in his attitude so that he does not hurt her. You don’t have to pry but a woman who is very sensitive would know that something is wrong with his man. Moreover, the woman may get to know from the rumour mill.

The bad effects of rumour on a marriage: I won't say that a woman should rely on rumours but...

US Police Arrests President Obama’s Uncle for DUI

67-year old Onyango Obama, uncle to President Barack Obama, pleaded ‘not guilty’ to a Driving Under Influence (DUI) charge, following his arrest in Framingham, Massachusetts, recently. After preliminary tests, it was discovered that his blood-alcohol level was 0.14% - a figure that is almost double the state’s legal driving limit of 0.08%.

The elder Obama seemed amused at all the media attention his trial is attracting and visibly laughed at some of the charges while his trial lasted at the court. He is scheduled to re-appear in court on November 17 for a pre-trial. The White House is yet to comment on the incident.

Onyango Obama is the half-brother of Obama’s father. Originally from Kenya, he was initially held without bail by U.S. Immigration officials, due to allegations that he was in the United States illegally. He was eventually released with orders to check in consistently with Immigration officials. This is also not the first time a member of Obama’s extended family has had issues with Immigration in the US.

Mandala’s Grandchildren Star in New Reality Show

Africans will glimpse into the lives of Nelson Mandela’s family when a reality show featuring three of his grandchildren premiers next year. A statement by the producers said: "The show provides a first look into a high-profile South African family. The stars of the show - Zaziwe Dlamini-Manaway, 34, Swati Dlamini, 32 and Dorothy Adjoa Amuah, 27 - promise to showcase contemporary independent women in South Africa."

Adding that “Their aim is to showcase the new Africa and give viewers a peek into its level of sophistication and its exciting potential.”

The first of its kind reality show will trace the daily lives of the American-schooled women who lead glitzy lives among Johannesburg’s rich and famous.
