Four Men Gang-Raped Female NYSC Member in Kano
"I relocated to the premises of the college with my friends when it started raining on that fateful day. While we were having fun, a lady suddenly approached us and was speaking a language none of us understood. I was moved by her beauty, and immediately drew out a sharp knife and in concert with others commandeered her into one of the classrooms, where we forced her to undress and gang-raped her in turns before policemen on patrol apprehended two of us while two escaped."
That was the confession of 18 years old Abba Garba, a battery charger, who led three of his friends to violate a female NYCS member inside a secondary school in Kano State recently. The state police commissioner, Ibrahim Idris, parade Garba and one Abubakar Suleiman before journalists on Tuesday, while the remaining two suspects - Nazeephy Malam and Ali Wara - are still at large.
The police boss refused to disclose the identity of the victim ‘’to avoid stigmatisation’’. He however disclosed that his men have earlier apprehended two other suspects who specialize in raping minors in the city... What is really going on? Rape and other violent crimes against women is gradually becoming a fad among young males in Nigeria.

I Want To Marry You, Rapist Tells His Victim in Court
The presiding magistrate, counsels and observers in an ongoing rape case against one Samuel Godwin Effiong, a 23 years old man, were left gasping when the rapist made a shocking proposal to the 27 years old woman (names withheld) whom he had unlawful carnal knowledge of in the open court.
In a bid to “compensate” her for the trauma and disgrace, Samuel told his victim that he will marry her and take responsibility of the baby if she had gotten pregnant as a result of the rape. In his desperation to escape a term in jail, he said he’s also ready to make any form of settlement that is required of him.
Samuel was charged before an Oshodi Magistrate court for raping the said 27 years old woman under false pretense. He was said to have worn his elder brother’s military uniform and arrested the victim somewhere in Ikeja. But instead of taking her to the barracks as he claimed while arresting her, he took her to a secluded place in Mafoluku where he forcefully raped her. Luck however ran out on him when someone who suspected his movement alerted the police and he was immediately arrested.
Reacting to his 'proposal', Lagos lawyer Festus Keyamo said: “The accused marriage proposal does not legalise the crime, though it all depends on the woman because once the woman drops the charge and says ‘I am no longer pursuing the case’ that will be the end of the case, as the prosecution needs the evidence of the woman to convict the man.”

Ope Banwo Falls Out With Baba Nee and Trybson
Stingomania Records boss, Ope Banwo, is presently at loggerheads with his two leading music artistes - Baba Nee and Trybson. According to a post on his facebook page on Tuesday September 27, 2011, titled: ‘STINGOMNIA PUBLIC NOTICE ON BABA NEE AND TRYBSON’, he is withdrawing all material of the two acts in circulation. His statement read thus...
“In addition to my public Caveat Emptor that all media houses will be receiving in the next few days, I am using this public medium to put everyone on notice that Stingomania Records has exclusive rights by contract to all the musical works and videos of Baba Nee and Trybson and until this contractual dispute is resolved, we are withdrawing all consents to anybody to utilize their works or professional services in any way, shape or form.
We will vigorously challenge any entity that plays their music or video or engages them in any public performance until the end of their contract with Stingomania in 2014 without the express consent from Stingomania. all previous consents given to radio stations, TV stations, marketers etc to play the works of these two artistes is hereby suspended indefinitely until further notice….all members of the public dealing with their works do so at their own risk of appropriate legal actions. Baba Nee and Trybson have no assets to repay our investments on them but we will be happy to collect our money from any organization or entity that violates our copyright interests”.
However, in an exclusive chat with YNaija, Trybson alleged that the latest outburst from Ope Banwo is a personal vendetta against them. Here is his own side of the story.

Popular Musician Goes Broke, Now Lives in a Van
In his heydays, he lived at 783 Bel Air Road, a four-bedroom Beverly Hills mansion that once belonged to John Phillips of ‘The Mamas & the Papas’. The Tudor-style house was tricked out in his signature, shag carpet, tiffany lamps in every room, a round water bed in the master bedroom. There were times when the likes of Stevie Wonder, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and Miles Davis would drop by to party with him.
Just four years ago, he resided in a Napa Valley house so large it could only be described as a “compound,” with a vineyard and multiple cars in the driveway. But those days are gone. Today one of the greatest figures in soul-music history, Sly Stone, is homeless, his fortune gone through a lethal combination of substance abuse and financial mismanagement.
The 68 years old now sleeps inside a white camper van ironically stamped with these words - “Pleasure Way”. The van is parked on a residential street in Crenshaw, a rough Los Angeles neighbourhood. A retired couple feeds him once a day, and allows him to shower in their bathroom.
When a reporter asked him what went wrong, Sly Stone replied replied with a cranky voice thus: “I like my small camper. I just do not want to return to a fixed home. I cannot stand being in one place. I must keep moving”... Hopefully his movement will take him to a permanent site one day. But when will Blacks in America stop all these frivolous lifestyles which often lead to self-destruction?
