Eddie Murphy to Host Oscar Awards
There's no gain saying that Coming to America star, Eddie Murphy, has an impressive resume, one that can command attention on any entertainment platform. And he might be adding an Oscar host to his resume come February 2012, if information coming out of Hollywood is anything to go by.
Credible sources have it that the actor/comedian is already in talks with Oscar producer, Bret Ratner, to host what is being described as 2012 'biggest night in movies'. All things being equal, Eddie will be presented to members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences on Tuesday.
He's expected to bring his vast experience to bear, with a view to charming the live crowd as well as those who would be watching on screen.

Kim Kardashian's Sex Tape Goes on Sale
Contrary to widely held opinion that the sex tape of newly wedded Hollywood big girl, Kim Kardashian, will be buried for good, a popular pornographic website has approached Vivid Entertainment, rights owners of the sex tape, with an offer to buy.
Porn Hub, a site which prides itself as the largest adult website in the world, has indicated interest in the ‘movie’, saying they are willing to pay $5 million for it, according to a letter written to Vivid Entertainment. And guess what, they intend to upload the "movie" on their website for free viewing to all and sundry.
I also heard that a mystery buyer, possibly representing Kim, is making frantic efforts to buy the tape off the market. So far, Vivid Entertainment is asking for $30 million from whoever is interested in the show of shame.

Is President Jonathan a Sectional Leader?
Wikileaks is at it again. According to a cable release by the controversial news organisation recently, former chief of army staff, Gen. Abdulraham Dambazau, had complained to the American Ambassador to Nigeria, Robin Sanders, that then acting President, Goodluck Jonathan, is not a man of his own and that he is sectional in his dealings.
The retired General was said to have complained about the frequent visits of ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo to the residence of then Vice President, the Aguda House. He also cited an example of the “transfer of N19 billion of government funds to a Niger Delta environmental project that was done at the end of a meeting that Jonathan had with a group from his region. Dambazau said this was done outside of the normal Cabinet decision-making process.”
The meeting between the two, according to a the release, was said to have taken place on February 24... Anyway, if you ask me, apart from the emergence of a few light weights on the national scene, Jonathan has not been too "sectional" with appointments and other responsibilities.

Lagos, One of the Worst Cities To Live In
If the latest survey conducted by the economic intelligence unit of the Economist Magazine is anything to go by, then one can safely assert that the over 15 million Nigerians who reside and do business in Nigeria’s commercial capital, Lagos, are doing so at grave risk to themselves.
Despite all the efforts of the Babatunde Fashola government in the state, it was ranked as the world's fourth (4th) worst city to live in, the world over. The ranking was reached after an assessment of living conditions in 140 cities around the world using indicators such as: stability, healthcare, environment, education, and infrastructure. The sub-indicators are: availability of quality private and public health care, and prevalence of petty/violent crimes with threat of civil unrest/militancy.
The state ranked 137 in the list of 140 countries surveyed. The worst city to live in the world is Harare, the capital of Zimbabwe... I’m definitely not surprised by the position of Robert Mugabe’s country. But that of Lagos, it seem a little discomforting.

Mother of Sextuplets Dies of Complications

The chairman of the board of OOUTH, Professor Femi Ajayi, had this to say about her death: "It was an unfortunate incident. The doctors and nurses at the hospital put in their best to ensure that the woman lived. She was under close monitoring as the medical team did not leave any stone unturned to ensure that she was alive."
You may wish to know that over half a million women die during childbirth annually around the world and Nigeria alone accounts for about 10% of these deaths... Anyway, the babies - three girls and three boys - are said to be in a stable condition... May God keep the kids.

'Mad' Dog Eats Up Newborn Baby
A two-week-old baby boy in the Houston-area has died after being mauled by a 'mad' dog owned by his parents. The sad incident happened over the weekend as the baby sat in an infant carrier on the floor of a room in the family house.
Narrating the incident, Harris County sheriff's spokesman, Thomas Gilliland, said the dog, a Labrador mix, began sniffing the child and attacked him in a snap before the parents could pull it away. The baby was rushed to the Memorial Hermann Hospital, where he died shortly after.
Animal control officers have taken custody of the dog for quarantine... Oh no, this is indeed sad. May God console the parent of the baby.
