University of Benin Closed Down Over Boko Haram

This Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin has ordered the immediate closure and evacuation of the institution.  This move is because an Islamic young man suspected to be a member of Boko Haram was arrested by men of the Nigerian Police Force. The suspect identified as Yusuf Danlandi was found with explosives along Ugbowo New Lagos road.

I heard the suspect had confessed that a 3x9 magnitude of improvised explosive device was smuggled into the University premises with the help of a Muslim faithful three days ago and was deposited in a yet to be identified hostel. The notice asking students to evacuate the premises was signed by Mrs. C.M Ojomo, the institution's acting Registrar.

One of Tuface Idibia's baby mama, Annie Macaulay, was asked by a reporter about the status of their relationship. Here's her response: "The only relationship that exists between us now is daddy and mummy relationship to our daughter, that is the truth. Innocent is a fantastic father and I must give him kudos for that. He is crazy about all his kids."

27 Percent Afro-Americans Live Below Poverty Line

According to the latest United States Census figure released recently, the number of Americans living under the poverty line hit a record 52-year-high. The report indicated that over fifteen (15) percent of the US population are suffering and smiling.

But the most shocking of the report statistic is the percentage of African-Americans living below the poverty line, which currently sits at a whopping 27.4 percent.

It is a known fact that most blacks who smuggled themselves to the US end up doing dirty and unimaginable stuffs to keep body and soul together. Funny enough, a lot more are daily struggle to travel out without any cut out plan. I wish they know what awaits them over there.

Black Couple Sentenced to Life Imprisonment

The life prison sentences earlier passed on a black couple in Atlanta for allowing their baby starve to death, has been upheld by the Georgia Supreme Court. Delivering judgement in the case on Monday, the Justices said they found them guilty of the offence. 

It would be recalled that a Fulton County court had in 2007 convicted Jade Sanders and Lamont Thomas for "malice murder, felony murder, and involuntary manslaughter" following the death of their six-week-old son.  According to police prosecutors, the baby died from a wrong substitute formula consisting of only soy milk and apple juice.

This is indeed a terrible face in the lives of this couple, considering the fact that it is their own baby we're talking about here... I really find it had to believe a couple would want to intentionally harm their own baby; perhaps they made a mistake. This is the problem with some of these so called free societies people run to. What a bad luck!

50 Cent Fights Professor Chinua Achebe

Popular rapper, 50 Cent, is not happy with Nigeria's literary giant, Prof. Chinua Achebe.  His gross with the elder statesman stemmed from his refusal to allow him use the title of one of his novel - Things Fall Apart - as a title for his latest movie.

After being contacted by Achebe's legal team about the infringement, 50 Cent offered the 80 years old man $1m as settlement, but the Professor's team took it as an insult. They reasoned that 'the novel was initially produced in 1958, about 17 years before 50 Cent himself was born, and that they would not let go of the title even for $1b'.

Consequently, 50 Cent and his team has been forced to rename his movie. The new title is now All Things Fall Apart... You may wish to know that Prof. Achebe's things fall apart is Nigeria's most famous English-language novel. It has sold more than 8m copies worldwide.
