MC Loph is No More…

It is with heavy heart that I report the sudden demise of Osondi Owendi crooner, Mc Loph. He died in a Road Traffic Accident (RTA) on the very dangerous Benin/Ore road today (Wednesday) while on his way to his traditional wedding. I gathered from close sources that his fiancé and sister were with him and reports have it that his sister also lost her life while the fiancé broke an arm.

So, so sad. This is indeed another terrible loss to the Nigerian entertainment industry and his family and friends. May his soul rest in peace… Amen! Watch the video of his hit track on top.

Genevieve Says 'I Didn’t Know I Was Pregnant'

In a recent interview, Noolywood A-list actress, Genevieve Nnaji, gave an insight on how she got pregnant at the age of 17 and how the matter was managed by her family. Enjoy the read...

“I didn’t feel anything. I didn’t even know till I was about four months. It was there, but I was still in shock. I didn’t believe it. The only time I actually believed it was when I saw it in a scan. Seven months! And I saw it’s in there and I said, ‘Okay, it’s true’. I was like, ‘Oh, it’s like some disease’. I think I was pretty much hard on myself then than my parents or people. I was harder on myself, really.

My parents reacted the way any parent would react - disappointed. I didn’t know. My mother discovered it for me. I didn’t know anything really. She discovered it for me and it was too late, we couldn’t do anything and we’re Catholics and I’m glad I didn’t do anything funny really. Getting rid of the pregnancy was an alternative then, but it was too late, because not until I was four months before we discovered it and so it was not what we could do.

And my dad was like, ‘it’s a child for Christ’s sake. God knows why he wants to bring that child into life’. We are Catholics and it’s just that conscience, you do wrong once and doing another would not make the first right. So, you either correct your mistake by doing the right thing. If I was pregnant, and then have an abortion, it would have been like murder after fornication! So, that was basically wrong”.

In case you don't know, the beautiful actress has a 14 years old daughter but the identity of the father remains unknown to the public.

Tonto Dike Wants to Settle with Van Vicker

Controversial Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh who told a reporter last week that “it is no body’s business if I smoke myself to hell”, seem to be turning a new leaf overnight. Those around her had said she would most likely snub the directive by Ghanaian movie producers to apologize to Van Vicker for insulting him.  But the babe is singing a different tune, to the surprise of many.

In her latest interview, the controversial Rivers State-born actress opened up on what really transpired between the two of them on a movie set, claiming it has been blown out of proportion.

In her words: “I don't know where the story is coming from. Van is my friend, we are very good friends. Yes, maybe we had an argument on set but it wasn't as big as what people are saying. Nobody has ever instructed me to apologize to Van. It's a lie. Seriously speaking, Van is my friend and colleague. If I have a problem with him, we will resolve it. It's just the handiwork of mischief makers”.

Anyway, sources are alleging that the babe has some ongoing projects in Ghana and that she decided to soft pedal so as to get the corporation of the industry regulators when she resume shooting... I’ll sure keep you posted on this angle of this story.

Man Dies at Home for Lack of N5,000 Medical Bill

Main entrance gate of Lagos University Teaching Hospital
After making frantic efforts to get medical help in several hospitals in Lagos but was rejected because he could not afford to pay N5,000 deposit, Cross River State-born Samuel Oyoma returned home dejected and gave up the ghost in his room. It was a pathetic sight at Chris Oladunni Street, Ejigbo, as neighbours gathered in groups to discuss the sad incident.

I gathered that the late Samuel had earlier sent his family to his home state when his financial problems became precarious. He had promised to bring them back to Lagos as soon as things get better, but that promise can no longer be fulfilled.

He was said to have tried borrowing the said N5,000 from fellow neighbours who also turned him down. I heard that men of the Ejigbo Divisional Police Headquarters have arrested some of his neighbours and his landlord for questioning... This is such a sad development. It is so disheartening to hear how fellow Nigerians loss their lives because of poverty yet our political and religious leaders live in stupendous affluence. God bless Nigeria!

Ghana Movies Are Corrupting Nollywood

In recent times, virtually all movies acted by Ghanaian artistes but produced for the Nollywood market come with loads and loads of adult content. According to a reliable source in the movie industry, these movies are causing a lot of issues in Nollywood at the moment as our producers and actors are beginning to site the absurdity going on in Ghana whenever they want take their acting of romantic scenes to the extreme.

I hear many home-based actors/actresses are already eager to join in the dirty game since, according to them, those Ghanaian movies are been cleared by our Film and Video Censors Board and, in fact, Nigerians now patronize more of the so called adult contents Ghanaian movies to the detriment of those acted by 'disciplined' Nollywood practitioners.

Check out the above Ghanaian movie that is coming to the Nigerian movie market any moment from now, and tell me if our movie censors board is doing enough as expected.
