Church Burnt In Yobe State Again

“They burnt a church and three blocks of classrooms in a primary school nearby. We have arrested three suspects in the attacks. The police have succeeded in restoring normalcy,”  said the Yobe State police commissioner, Moses Onireti. 

A source told Olufamous.com that thousands of protesters, including clerics, traders and youths took to the streets of Potiskum, Yobe State, on Monday over the deadly attack on a cattle market last week that killed at about 60 people.

Gov Fashola Sacks All Striking Doctors In Lagos

Information at the disposal of Olufamous.com is that the Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola, has ordered the sacking of all the striking doctors on the payroll of the state government.  Fashola’s action was in response to the refusal of the doctors to end their strike, which has lasted for over two weeks.

From what I gathered, the implementation of the Governor's order began immediately as the affected doctors started receiving their sack letters on Monday morning.

President Goodluck Jonathan has advised politicians who are running from pillar to post, lobbying the leadership of the PDP to get a place in the widely speculated new cabinet to save their energy. He said the present ministers are doing a good job and as such their is no need for a change.

“President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has implicit confidence in the ability of the current crop of ministers to deliver and has no plan to undertake any replacement at the moment,” presidential spokesman Reuben Abati said in a statement in Abuja.

One of Nigeria’s leading music producers, Don Jazzy (real names Michael Collins) has formed a new label known as Mavin Records. He has also signed four artistes - Wande Coal, Tiwa Savage, Dr. Sid and D’Prince.

The producer, who recently split with his business partner and co-founder of Mo'Hits, DBanj, confirmed on Twitter on Monday that he had set up the new label.

Blackmail, Propaganda Won’t Help PDP -Oshiomhole's Camp

The Director of Media and Publicity of the Oshiomhole Campaign Organisation (OSO), Prince Kassim Afegbua, has stated that intimidation, blackmail and propaganda cannot see PDP through in the forthcoming July 14 governorship election in Edo State.

Prince Afegbua, who stated this in an interview, observed that the level of bare-faced intimidation, propaganda and deliberate mischief of the PDP called for worry by all well-meaning Edo people who are deserving of good governance and accountable leadership.
