It is a shame the kind of leaders we have in Nigeria. These people don't care about the country, the laws of the land, the welfare of the citizens but they expect the citizens to live above board at all times or risk being sent to jail or, worst still, be condemned to awaiting trial.
While the widely publicized encounter between Governor Babatunde Fashola and an Army Colonel who drove on the on the BRT lane in Lagos is still fresh in the mind of many Lagosians, a similar incident repeated on Sunday afternoon.
Reports according to Daily Post says, "The Chief Justice of the Federation (Justice Mariam Aloma) broke the Lagos State Traffic Law today (Sunday) by driving on the BRT lane. She was seen ‘driving’ against the law at 12:40pm and the case was reported live on Lagos traffic FM 96.1.”
The fine for taking a BRT lane is N25,000. And many Lagosians have suffered dire consequences for driving on the BRT lane in recent times.
Will justice ever be done against the Chief Justice of Nigeria?

ReplyDeleteThe chief justice is not a Lagos resident and does not drive herself. Mind u , d chief justice of d federation is higher in rank status and position than a state governor. So respect such oposition and get your facts straight. Wherever d president and gov convoy will access, d chief justice ought to use same. D. Tella Attoni.

DeleteTella Attoni you are right in Nigerian standard, come over to USA, governors will walk alone, drive himself, and walk like ordinary people, even President and Mayors, but is crazy down there in Nigeria and is unfortunate for politician to be treating those that voted for them that way, May God help Nigeria, but i know there will be way forward soon.
