The Truth Finally Comes Out: Why the 4 Students Were Killed

Since this incident happened I've pondered and wondered what could have gone wrong that the four boys weren't bold enough to talk and challenge those who beat and paraded them in public, leading them to where they were eventually killed.

Now the whole issue is clearer; the boys "ignorantly" got themselves involved with a cultist who operates with a gun, all in a bid to get their money back from a debtor.

Below is what actually happened according to an insider....
An indigene of Aluu owed Ugo some money and had vowed not to pay back. Ugo who was popularly known as Tipsy had gone to meet with a fearless University guy (name withheld) to help them track the debtor who had been on the run.

‘Mr Fearless guy’ (a cultist) who was feared by many in the school ad accepted to accompany his friends to get the debtor tracked down in exchange for a percentage of the debt.

They were joined by their room-mate, Chidiaka. On their way to the place, they met one of their friend, Tekena, who knew nothing about the plan, and he joined, just for the hype as is normal with young boys of juvenile age.
That made 5 boys - Ugo, Lloyd, Chidiaka, Tekena and ‘Mr Fearless Guy’ that got to the debtor’s compound. Unknown to the other four, ‘Mr Fearless Guy’ who was contracted to intimidate the debtor just to get the money paid, went with a gun.
When they got to the debtor’s house around 12am, a fight ensued, as the debtor confronted them. A next door neighbour, a woman started shouting on top of her voice, that they were thieves, attracting other bad boys around the area, whom were mainly “vikings”, the rival cult group of the one on contract.

They swung into action by tipping the vigilante group who confronted the boys, referring to them as thieves. In the process of beating the boys, while they were trying to prove their innocence, the fifth boy, ‘Mr Fearless Guy’, who is a cultist, brought out his gun to scare the people, and he escaped, leaving the rest four at the mercy of the villagers.
The explanation they tried to give fell on the community’s deaf ears as the people insisted they must be killed....and unfortunately they were lynched!

Note:- this story is an eyewitness account from the 5th boy who escaped. He narrated this to Ugo and Lloyd’s friend who has pleaded that his identity be kept secret.

  1. It's unfortunate, but the cultist guy should be fished out as he put them in trouble wit his gun.

  3. I am thoroughly outraged at the manner these promising young were brutally murdered. However, if this account is true, then we all have a lesson to learn from it; never use a bad means for a good cause. Deploring a cultist to retrieve debt owed at 12am is not a good idea. Using the police organ is a better alternative. My heart bleeds for Nigeria that has foolishly lost another set of potentials for greatness. Lord have mercy.

  10. How do a sane man draw debt at 12am in the night? its painful though but we should sometimes use our initiative while doing things, the woman that raise the alarm without knowing what was going on, is the genesis of everything.

  14. The vigilante group have a case to answer. Their job is to arrest not to help in killing.

  15. You have all spoken well but the fact remains that it is very absurd to go demand for a debt at 12am. Why not report to the relevant authority. I also blame the jungle justice meted on them by the Vigilantee Group this also shows how we tackle the menace of insecurity in our dear Nation Nigeria.

    1. Macclean, stop saying that its absurd as a student to go and demand for his/her money from a debtor. Youthful exuberance makes young lads of our time act without thinking it out to the end, if you have been in a university enviroment, you will understand what I mean. By 12am, I'm sure the writer meant noon, cos we all know that the lynching was done in broad day light. NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING justifies taking another man's life. So stop aportioning blame to those poor souls. Focus rather on how we can keep the fire burning, so the culprits will be punished. That is the only worry I have now, as our authorities have a way of leaving the trail cold after a while.

    2. I totally agree with you. This story has a lot of holes. How is it possible that they couldn't disarm or maim the fellow carrying the weapon? How did he escape from the crowd without been stoned or something? The boys are not to blame and I do not believe they deserve what they got because there is nothing to show that they attacked anybody. How many people walk around with arms without the next person knowing it? I can be armed but it doesn't mean I step to the first person I see so no one is the wiser. Self-defence doesn't fly here at all.

  17. i still maintain that this is not enough reason for them to be killed in that gruesome manner.secondly you will notice that they were lynched in broad daylight meaning many hours passed before they were killed why didn't they take them to the school to confirm or debunk the allegations?
even the opc and vigilante who operate in lagos will not murder or kill anyone they catch in the night, they might punish them but will hold on to them and then take them to the community head the next morning for judgement who will hand them over to the police
this account more than ever shows that the community head and the ring leaders are guilty of second degree murder

  18. I'm not related to any of the dead boyz, i'm neither a friend. Elisha cursed those who came out to mock him - bald head and 2 bears came out of the woods and devoured them.
During my NYSC in Ondo State - a community call Igbokoda was cursed for over 70 years ago by a pregnant woman that the village head ordered to be buried alive by the river. That pregnant woman cursed that land as she was buried alive - that no pregnant woman would ever survive and so it was even up until the time our prayer team visited that community.
We have the law enforcement agents in the country, no crime gives vigilante, or a community the right to take another human's life. Parading them naked, stoning them, beating them with heavy logs of wood and setting them ablaze!

For that 2 hours of horror, anguish, torture, and gruesome murder - I CURSE every1 who took part in parading, stoning, killing and burning those four boyz, watchers - observing, taking snapshots, video-covering...I Curse every1 of U in the name of Jesus!
Aluu village is Cursed for the next 400 years, no indigene of Aluu shall live to outgrow the age of the oldest of the 4 boyz - Aluu youths shall all die painful, terrible and mysterious deaths in their prime. Only the aged presently in Aluu community at the time of this incident shall be the last known and seen old peeple.
Aluu community is cursed 4 generations from now...she shall not see any more youths in her land - a land stained with the blood of the innocent. The village head who authorized the murder has his linage cut of forever in the name of Jesus. Amen! So shall it be for the next 400 years. (This is not a joke).

  21. That means its another boko haram system of killings. That means we needed to monitor our children especially those in higher institutions. But evil deeds has been done, the vigilante must pay dearly for this. Adewusi o j

  22. Something is wrong with this story....if he brought out gun and he was free how come he was able to out run the other 4 boys and he alone escaped and none of the boys were able to escape? A woman will not just see boys doing their thing and then screams thief!!!!! Someone who really know what happened, should come out. Maybe the best person to tell what happened will be the so called debtor.

  29. And if U̶̲̥̅̊ know someone or do business with someone that U̶̲̥̅̊  this person as credible enough to owe U̶̲̥̅̊, U̶̲̥̅̊ would've been a regular at that evironment and I'm sure its not the first time that lady that screemed theif will be seeing U̶̲̥̅̊ around so why didn't anyone stop them frm killing these boys? If they had explained this story to the so called community head and he didn't not investigate the matter then he should also face the law and why didn't anyone around for the two hours of torture call for help from the police or even do something? Were there no mothers, fathers or even youths around?
