Since this incident happened I've pondered and wondered what could have gone wrong that the four boys weren't bold enough to talk and challenge those who beat and paraded them in public, leading them to where they were eventually killed.
Now the whole issue is clearer; the boys "ignorantly" got themselves involved with a cultist who operates with a gun, all in a bid to get their money back from a debtor.
Below is what actually happened according to an insider....
An indigene of Aluu owed Ugo some money and had vowed not to pay back. Ugo who was popularly known as Tipsy had gone to meet with a fearless University guy (name withheld) to help them track the debtor who had been on the run.
‘Mr Fearless guy’ (a cultist) who was feared by many in the school ad accepted to accompany his friends to get the debtor tracked down in exchange for a percentage of the debt.
They were joined by their room-mate, Chidiaka. On their way to the place, they met one of their friend, Tekena, who knew nothing about the plan, and he joined, just for the hype as is normal with young boys of juvenile age.
That made 5 boys - Ugo, Lloyd, Chidiaka, Tekena and ‘Mr Fearless Guy’ that got to the debtor’s compound. Unknown to the other four, ‘Mr Fearless Guy’ who was contracted to intimidate the debtor just to get the money paid, went with a gun.
When they got to the debtor’s house around 12am, a fight ensued, as the debtor confronted them. A next door neighbour, a woman started shouting on top of her voice, that they were thieves, attracting other bad boys around the area, whom were mainly “vikings”, the rival cult group of the one on contract.
They swung into action by tipping the vigilante group who confronted the boys, referring to them as thieves. In the process of beating the boys, while they were trying to prove their innocence, the fifth boy, ‘Mr Fearless Guy’, who is a cultist, brought out his gun to scare the people, and he escaped, leaving the rest four at the mercy of the villagers.
The explanation they tried to give fell on the community’s deaf ears as the people insisted they must be killed....and unfortunately they were lynched!
Note:- this story is an eyewitness account from the 5th boy who escaped. He narrated this to Ugo and Lloyd’s friend who has pleaded that his identity be kept secret.

It's unfortunate, but the cultist guy should be fished out as he put them in trouble wit his gun.
ReplyDeleteCOMRADE SEGUN
Now the truth is out. Its too late.. RIP to my fellow Nigeria student.
ReplyDeleteI am thoroughly outraged at the manner these promising young were brutally murdered. However, if this account is true, then we all have a lesson to learn from it; never use a bad means for a good cause. Deploring a cultist to retrieve debt owed at 12am is not a good idea. Using the police organ is a better alternative. My heart bleeds for Nigeria that has foolishly lost another set of potentials for greatness. Lord have mercy.
ReplyDeleteIts really a sad one, that boys wit the gun cost everytin
ReplyDeleteOh! God have mercy.may their soul rest in peace.
ReplyDeleteOh! God have mercy.may their soul rest in peace.
ReplyDeleteGod help us. Amen
ReplyDeletePity....... sorry for them.
ReplyDeleteVery sad story. The government should do a proper investigation to get d facts and those find wanting should be delt with according to the law.May their soul rest in peace.
ReplyDeleteSo so sad...
ReplyDeleteHow do a sane man draw debt at 12am in the night? its painful though but we should sometimes use our initiative while doing things, the woman that raise the alarm without knowing what was going on, is the genesis of everything.
ReplyDeleteNibba
ђε evil dat men do nowadays even D̶̲̥̅̊ devil himself i̶̲̥̅̊s surprised... Hhhhmmmmmmmm
ReplyDeletethat does not mean that they shud kill fellow human beings like them
DeleteSad story. Jungle justice stil bad. D culprits must b brought to book.
ReplyDeleteI just pray that the almighty God in his great mercy wuld have mercy on their soul and grant them everlastin rest, and also giv the family the strenght to bear this great lost.my heart rily bleadin for them.
ReplyDeleteThe vigilante group have a case to answer. Their job is to arrest not to help in killing.
ReplyDeleteYou have all spoken well but the fact remains that it is very absurd to go demand for a debt at 12am. Why not report to the relevant authority. I also blame the jungle justice meted on them by the Vigilantee Group this also shows how we tackle the menace of insecurity in our dear Nation Nigeria.
ReplyDeleteMacclean, stop saying that its absurd as a student to go and demand for his/her money from a debtor. Youthful exuberance makes young lads of our time act without thinking it out to the end, if you have been in a university enviroment, you will understand what I mean. By 12am, I'm sure the writer meant noon, cos we all know that the lynching was done in broad day light. NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING justifies taking another man's life. So stop aportioning blame to those poor souls. Focus rather on how we can keep the fire burning, so the culprits will be punished. That is the only worry I have now, as our authorities have a way of leaving the trail cold after a while.
DeleteI totally agree with you. This story has a lot of holes. How is it possible that they couldn't disarm or maim the fellow carrying the weapon? How did he escape from the crowd without been stoned or something? The boys are not to blame and I do not believe they deserve what they got because there is nothing to show that they attacked anybody. How many people walk around with arms without the next person knowing it? I can be armed but it doesn't mean I step to the first person I see so no one is the wiser. Self-defence doesn't fly here at all.
DeleteSpeechless.......
ReplyDeletei still maintain that this is not enough reason for them to be killed in that gruesome manner.secondly you will notice that they were lynched in broad daylight meaning many hours passed before they were killed why didn't they take them to the school to confirm or debunk the allegations?
ReplyDeleteeven the opc and vigilante who operate in lagos will not murder or kill anyone they catch in the night, they might punish them but will hold on to them and then take them to the community head the next morning for judgement who will hand them over to the police
this account more than ever shows that the community head and the ring leaders are guilty of second degree murder
I'm not related to any of the dead boyz, i'm neither a friend. Elisha cursed those who came out to mock him - bald head and 2 bears came out of the woods and devoured them.
ReplyDeleteDuring my NYSC in Ondo State - a community call Igbokoda was cursed for over 70 years ago by a pregnant woman that the village head ordered to be buried alive by the river. That pregnant woman cursed that land as she was buried alive - that no pregnant woman would ever survive and so it was even up until the time our prayer team visited that community.
We have the law enforcement agents in the country, no crime gives vigilante, or a community the right to take another human's life. Parading them naked, stoning them, beating them with heavy logs of wood and setting them ablaze!
For that 2 hours of horror, anguish, torture, and gruesome murder - I CURSE every1 who took part in parading, stoning, killing and burning those four boyz, watchers - observing, taking snapshots, video-covering...I Curse every1 of U in the name of Jesus!
Aluu village is Cursed for the next 400 years, no indigene of Aluu shall live to outgrow the age of the oldest of the 4 boyz - Aluu youths shall all die painful, terrible and mysterious deaths in their prime. Only the aged presently in Aluu community at the time of this incident shall be the last known and seen old peeple.
Aluu community is cursed 4 generations from now...she shall not see any more youths in her land - a land stained with the blood of the innocent. The village head who authorized the murder has his linage cut of forever in the name of Jesus. Amen! So shall it be for the next 400 years. (This is not a joke).
Amen and Amen, so shall it be.
DeleteAmen. And may d Lord have mercy on the soul of the 4 youths and grant them eternal rest in Jesus name. Oh! what a painful death.
DeleteA big AMEN to that......
DeleteOnly God knows d truth.
ReplyDeleteThussaythylord can curse bring them back No lets pray that Nigeria should be fruitful thru Youth and it is that Youth that u are cursing pls let stop curse and start PRAYER.
ReplyDeleteLEGZY
That means its another boko haram system of killings. That means we needed to monitor our children especially those in higher institutions. But evil deeds has been done, the vigilante must pay dearly for this. Adewusi o j
ReplyDeleteSomething is wrong with this story....if he brought out gun and he was free how come he was able to out run the other 4 boys and he alone escaped and none of the boys were able to escape? A woman will not just see boys doing their thing and then screams thief!!!!! Someone who really know what happened, should come out. Maybe the best person to tell what happened will be the so called debtor.
ReplyDeletewhere is this debtor? where is the woman that scream? 4 boys were lynch and you still talk about annonimity! there are big holes in this story, bros this is not all that is!
ReplyDeleteD debtor has d better side of d story, dis 1 no follow. Did d mr fearless guy point d gun at d debtor and wat made d woman start shouting?? Cos of d Fight, obviously not.
ReplyDeleteplz can someone give us the full name of the aluu boy tht refused to pay his debt which claim the lives of those innocents children
ReplyDeleteThat is no a reason for them to be killed like that no matter what and this so called woman that screamed is not a mother if she truly is she wldnt hv scream seeing young boys arguing.. May their souls hunt those that killed them.
ReplyDeleteAll I can say is that this story is not true.
ReplyDeleteThere is much that has not been said in this story I believe, if the creaditor was indeed going to collect debt at 12 midnite he won't be picking up his friends on d way like that. If
ReplyDeleteAnd if U̶̲̥̅̊ know someone or do business with someone that U̶̲̥̅̊ this person as credible enough to owe U̶̲̥̅̊, U̶̲̥̅̊ would've been a regular at that evironment and I'm sure its not the first time that lady that screemed theif will be seeing U̶̲̥̅̊ around so why didn't anyone stop them frm killing these boys? If they had explained this story to the so called community head and he didn't not investigate the matter then he should also face the law and why didn't anyone around for the two hours of torture call for help from the police or even do something? Were there no mothers, fathers or even youths around?

My CURSE fall on the community leader/traditional leader whom they brought this case b4 him.He could not call d sch or appropriate security agency b4 givin them go-ahead. He is the main cause of this death. He will not know any peace & his death will be more gruesome than this. Amen.
ReplyDeleteHe was a leader and made poor judgment. What he has succeeded in doing is carrying blood on his own head. He will answer to their death!
DeleteStory story, this has no iota of truth,so where is the tale of the 5th person, who does not want to be known, this tale is definitely tales by moonlight, please remove this blog, cos all you keep saying is mr fearless, and don't add to the tension, by trying to hold brief for the villagers.Let the young vibrant boys rest in peace, and stop spreading this childish stuff.
ReplyDeletehmmmmmm, wat i cant understand is how a woman will let dis happen to her fellow women's children.except there are no women in aluu.
ReplyDeleteWhen uniport was Alive! It can't happen,so Aluu or d state as a whole won't even try hurt a unipot student,d school has been indigenized so what d you expect,be warn
ReplyDeleteis too painful. May there soul rest in peace.
ReplyDeletepple get mind to do their fellow human beings like this
ReplyDeleteThe point is even if they were cultist, they didnt deserve to die
ReplyDeleteEven if they were thieves as claimed by the writer of this article, the villagers were not blind. They could see these guys were not armed.
ReplyDeleteThere is absolutely no excuse for this mindless murders.
The villagers are just too evil to have killed these promising young people like that. And may God console their families and visit the villagers and the village with destruction.
May d lord have mercy on us all. No blames, let lessons b learnt.
ReplyDeleteI wonder how many innocent people that this Aluu citizens must have killed and buried without anybody noticing, God have mercy
