The news of her troubled marriage was first reported by The Nation, so Funke Akindele has forwarded an sms message to the media house. The message reads:
“I read in the newspaper yesterday that I am divorced. What proof do you have? And I am taking this to court because my marriage is intact. You guys are rumour mongers. Funke Akindele Oloyede.”
It was reported on Tuesday that the actress may have been separated from her husband, Kehinde Oloyede, son of former Iyaloja of Oshodi market.
This is after Kehinde Oloyede himself announced a “separation” via his facebook page on Monday. He said:
“It is with heavy heart that I am announcing the separation of me and my wife, Mrs Olufunke Akindele. We have both agreed to go our separate ways because of irreconcilable differences. We are still best of friends and we would forever remain good friends.”The statement, which the actress’ husband has since deleted from his facebook wall, generated concerns among the star’s fans, who made the issue a major topic on the social media.
Attempts to reach Funke on Monday failed. Her elder sister, who doubles as her spokesperson, Mrs Ayo-Ola Muhammed, failed to make an official statement she promised when contacted because, according to reports, the actress asked that no statement be made on the issue.
From what OluFamous.Com gathered, Funke Akindele's husband may have deleted the “separation” post on his facebook page, due to pressure from friends and family members. She is said to have been crying since the incident, fearing criticisms by her fans and her clients’ reactions.
Funke Akindele, actor and producer and ambassador of several brands, including telecommunications giant, Globacom, got married to Oloyede 14 months ago in a grand ceremony held in Lagos.
Funke’s decision to marry the real estate business man, was severely criticised by many who wondered why she should get involved with a man that is already married, with children and "different woman".

How could a lady of her status desend so low to have involved herself in such a relationship if not for her selfish and stupid reasons. We have guys in town who are single and promising,but what do the do to these guys....'he has no money,he has no background' etc. A young and promising lady of her status getting involved in such a mess is degrading as far as i am concern. She must accept tha fact that she dig her hole...and she must fall into it now. what a disgrace! A man with so many wives and children,you as a single girl being involved with such a man is stupid, lessions for our parent,the bible say train up your child in the way of God,when they grow it will not depart.
