Governor Fashola Donates N4.5m to Sick Actress, Ngozi Nwosu
The prayers of ailing Nollywood actress, Ngozi Nwosu, has been answered. The Fuji House of Commotion star who needs about Six Million Naira (N6m) for a kidney transplant in the UK got N4.5 million from Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State.
Friends and fans of the actress were able to raise about N2million for her.

Bishop Disgraces Jonathan, Others During Azazi’s Burial
It was a big shame for President Goodluck Jonathan and other political leaders on Saturday in Bayelsa State as Bishop of Bomadi Catholic Diocese, Vicarage Hyacinth Egbebor, in his homily, blamed the crash that killed former NSA Andrew Azazi and former Governor Patrick Yakowa on corruption.
At the state funeral of Azazi in Peace Park, Yenagoa, attended by President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife, Patience, the Minister of God insisted that leaders in the country were so corrupt that they had compromised the safety of everywhere, including the airspace.

Kogi State Governor Walks Around With Crutches
Following the series of suggeries he went through at an Abuja hospital, Kogi State Governor, Idris Wada, who was involved in a car accident last Friday, is said to be fighting to return to his feet.

PDP Chief Asks Jonathan to Stop Subsidy in 2013
The ground appears to have been prepared for another New Year confrontation between President Goodluck Jonathan and organised labour, following a stiff opposition by civil rights groups to a suit asking Jonathan to totally remove the subsidy on fuel in 2013.
A chieftain of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Stanley Okeke, has filed a suit in which he is asking a Federal High Court to compel the President to remove fuel subsidy totally.

Pastor who Specializes in Defrauding Nigerians Arrested in Lagos
Men of the Nigeria Police in Lagos State have arrested a pastor and a travel agency operator, who allegedly, specializes in defrauding intending pilgrims of using the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission.
The suspects were identified by the police as Rev. Joshua Taiwo, an Ibadan based pastor, with the Gospel Faith Mission International, GOFMINT and Lanre Onabanjor, a staff of Ashton and Dave Travel Agency.
They were arrested by policemen attached to Bar-Beach Police Station following a complaint from a victim who accused the suspects of defrauding him of about N1.3million.

Rochas Okorocha, Female Senator in Street Fight Over Convoy


It was a clash of supremacy on Wednesday in Imo State when the security details attached to Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha and those of Senator Chris Anyanwu clashed in a near free-for-all street fight in the state.
“When I could not bear it any more, I rushed out of my car barefooted and started shouting: 'I am Senator Chris Anynawu please don’t kill my driver'. But one of the armed men charged at me and threatened to shoot me for running into the governor’s convoy. Obasanjo Left his Home 20minutes Before the Fire
Barely 24 hours after former President Olusegun Obasanjo celebrated the annual Ibogun Olaogun Day in his birthplace, Ibogun Olaogun, Ogun State, a section of his Hilltop mansion in Abeokuta was on Thursday gutted by fire.
His wife, Bola, children and grandchildren, said to be on holiday, were reportedly moved to safer sections of the mansion to avoid any human casualty as the fire raged.

A military Joint Task Force, Operation Pulo Shield 01, has uncovered an illegal oil depot in Calabar, Cross River State, where no less than 8,000 drums of fuel and diesel were stored.
The Public Relations Officer of the 13 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Capt. Joseph James, who stated this on Wednesday, said six persons, including an Assistant Superintendent of Police, have been arrested in connection with the illegal depot.

Revealed! Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala Paid N40m for her Mother's Release
In a typical sting operation, operatives of the State Security Service (SSS) have picked up six of the men that abducted Prof. Kamene Okonjo, mother of the Finance Minister, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.
It has now emerged that the Okonjo family paid a N40 million ransom for her release, but the suspects were arrested, as they tried to deposit some of the money.
"The N40m, which was paid to the kidnappers was marked money from the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN. What happened was that the money was paid on Wednesday by our men and by Thursday, two persons had gone to the Nebisi Road branch of an old generation bank to deposit N15m out of the money.”
