A group, the Niger Delta Youth Initiative for Positive Change, has appealed to Nigerian youths to desist from insulting President Goodluck Jonathan on Facebook and other social media.
“The youth should desist from using abusive words against the President of the country. We should learn how to respect our leaders and we need to support him because we elected him into that office.
“Insulting him on Facebook and other social media is not the best. The truth is that Nigeria has been facing a lot of economic and political problems for a long time. President Jonathan did not create these problems.”The group said some Nigerians had taken delight in using abusive words against President Jonathan, adding that such attitude was not common in other countries.
National Coordinator of the group, Mr. David Ato, who made this call while speaking with newsmen in Port Harcourt on Friday, explained that President Goodluck Jonathan meant well for Nigerians. Ato stated that the President needed the support of Nigerians, including youths, to be able to deliver on his election promises.
He said people using abusive words against the President should realise that Jonathan did not create the economic and political problems facing the country.
We agree to the fact that he did not create the problems but if he can't solve them, he should make way for someone who can. Chikena!

Even on the face of this peasantine-era,extreme opulence is still been nurtured by Persons who shont be in his Government but are unfortunately his right hand men.No recruitment exercise,which by the way I am part of, has gone down without merit been thrown to the dust,mere chasm of test are conducted, meanwhile the President wife's list is one of the litany of those lists of candidates approved even before the job is advertised.

ReplyDeletefirst of all, he has not in anyway conducted himself as a leader much less distanced himself from the failed policies of the past, neither has he so far exhibited basic qualities of someone worth to be called a leader hence i refuse to recognize him as a leader second, while i recognize that cursing him on facebook is unethical, i note that it is a stark reminder of how desperate, how much they long for good leadership vision/direction and disappointed the youths are of the president, on so many issues be it on power generation, affordable transportation, unemployment , appointment of important post like recently that of discredited annineh ... name it, his silence on failure of waec n neco, on boko haram just name it. personally i dont see clear path to success with this man all he is got is deceit and am not surprised, since he didnt paticipate in presidential election to present his case to the people i know he has no plane for us and that he has proved so far. whenever he talks , he find it difficult to one meaning ful project he has so far done and proud off. damn it .... i dont blame the youth and i urge them not to lose hope though.
