The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta, MEND, as responded to the conviction in South Africa of Henry Okah, its former leader, declaring that the development will be the start of the disintegration of Nigeria, and warning of disastrous consequences to befall the federal government and all of its officials since 1999.
The deadly group boasted that they are now more equipped to deal seriously with the Nigerian state, saying they have attained “capabilities which will take the Nigerian Military another 10 years to catch.”
