Petroleum Task Force Report: God Bless Ribadu


The strategy was obvious: hurl enough mud on the processes leading to the compilation of the report of the Petroleum Revenue Special Task Force led by a former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu.

That way, the report would be thrown into the dustbin like many before it. A similar but cleverer attempt was made on Mr. Farouk Lawan of the House of Representatives over the oil subsidy probe. And that attempt succeeded.

500 Igbos Arrested as Misguided Elements Declare Biafra Republic


Men of the Nigeria Police Force in Enugu on Monday arrested over 500 persons for allegedly being part of the purported re-declaration of Biafra as a sovereign state from Nigeria.

The group under the aegis of Biafra Zionist Movement, BZM, had converged on an open field in Coal Camp area of Enugu where the leader, Mr. Ben Onwuka, addressed them. 

Onwuka told members of his group: “It is clear that the security of lives and property of Biafran people is no longer guaranteed in the entity called Nigeria.

Okada Riders Beat Up LASTMA Officers In Lagos


Aggrieved riders of motorcycles popularly called Okada plying Magodo area of Lagos State took to the Ojodu Berger road on Monday to engage some officers of the Lagos State Traffic and Management Authority, LASTMA, in a fight after the officers led a raid against their member.

Trouble started when an Okadarider, said to be plying one of the restricted routes, was chased by the patrol teams.
