The desire of supporters of late Governor Patrick Yakowa to see the new governor of the state, Muktar Yero, give the deputy governor slot to Amina Yokawo, widow of the late governor, due to the resources and time her husband spent to emerge as governor have been dashed.
Sources told Olufamous.com that Vice President Nnamdi Sambo has his own candidate.
The state PDP chairman, Ambassador Nuhu Bajoga, is said to be the preferred candidate. The Vice President who chaired the meeting with Governor Yero and other members of their inner caucus were said to have settled for Amb. Bajoga instead of Amina Yakowa for selfish reasons.
Also, many Christians in Kaduda see this move as a calculated attempt to take away the leadership of the PDP from the Southern Kaduna area and give it those from Northern Kaduna.
The political atmosphere in Kaduna is tense at the moment....

ReplyDeleteVice Presidend really shown sentement, since the seat for Governor is no more in zone 3 Then Deputy Governor supposed to emerged from zone 3 not zon 2,let us be sincerelly in our life's even though they no give Deputy Governor to the late Governor wife,they should select aman in replacement of her, but from zone 3.Ambassador Nuhu Bajoga is already PDP Chairman why not allow him to finish his tenure? ReplyDeleteA Lady can occupy any political position in Nigeria. The constitution did not specifically mention males to fill political offices. If you want to advise Kaduna State to follow the Constitution, that is okay but do not bring gender discrimination into it.

ReplyDeleteWhat are you people saying? Aren't we giving more than enough privileges to the minority southern Kaduna guys in Kaduna? Where else in Nigeria is that fairness obtainable? Yakowa's emergence as the governor of Kaduna state was a big mistake and act or treason by the VP Namadi Sambo. God HAs given us back our state and we should treat it as one. Please, those of you that think if we decide to rule the state all over; from governor, deputy and so on...there will be chaos should revisit their thinkings. Kaduna is our state, and no one can tell us how to do it.
