Already about five persons have lost their lives today and the shooting is still ongoing. Everybody in this area is now living in fear as we don't know where to run to...Gun shots are heard from all the different corners, a source in Kano told Olufamous.com on Sunday.
From what Olufamous.com gathered, a gunfight between the Joint Task Force and Islamic militants is still going on in Kano as at 1:00pm (Nigerian time) and has left at least five people dead. Security operatives are said to be having the upper hand.
The JTF was said to be on a house to house search for members of Boko Haram in the Ring Road area of the city when a group of militant fighters attacked them.
Many who have the means are already fleeing the city as at the time of filing this report.
