Fire Breaks Out At Ikeja City Mall

Several shoppers and passersby scampered for their life as fire broke out in the popular Ikeja City Mall in the Lagos city center on Tuesday afternoon. The fire which started around 11am was first noticed in Mr Price, one of the stores in the Mall.

Men of the Lagos State Fire Service, whose office is located behind the Mall, were said to have responded promptly to the emergency situation.

The entire Mall was evacuated while the fire men battle to put out the fire. The extent of damage is yet to be ascertained but a source said goods and fittings worth millions of Naira were destroyed.

Our sympathy to all those who incurred losses.

this is not Ikeja City Mall, no-one was injured and no goods lost to fire or smoke damage.
It would be good if reporting was more accurate and less sensational
