Another road user, Niyi Onanubi, said, “Higher fares, stranded commuters; these are what you get when a few people think they know what’s best for 18 million others.”

Some motorists and commuters, who spoke with Punch on the situation, attributed it to the Lagos State Government new traffic laws. They said the policy was not well thought out because it had only imposed hardship on the people.
There was also much pressure on the Bus Rapid Transit services as passengers cramped onto the buses. Many would-be commuters were seen in long queues awaiting BRT buses.

ReplyDeleteThere shoild have been alternative arrangements in place b4 d banning! Okada is useful to ppl but d dangers far outweigh d usefulness. Broken limbs hanging in hospitals,using Okada to rob ppl,that is not working at all.

We al know d damage dis okada riders has caused 2 each homes, Gov Fashola should b linien in his action 2ward dis okada riders. I believe What mater alot in dis isseue is total Orientation, d okada riders should b oriented by govt instead of banned.
ReplyDeletefashola is just bein unnessesarily mean on its citizen,hes playing god,he 4got dis life is like a pack of card,it could deal he himself the same game he is dealing others,imagine the yaba market ,hes constructing,who are the people that wud rent such expensive shops?and what are the wares that wud be sold there to be able to pay the rent of such shops?i can imagine all of his policies is just in favour of his class of people and not 4 the poor masses,that got him there,but one tin is certain!fashola is no god,and can never b,what eva a man sows dat he shall reap,he started well but i think hes spoiling what rep hes created 4 himsef,by affecting live of people dat used to lov himwhen dey voted for him ,if only dey knew he'd turn aroung to crush dem ,i believe they wudnt have voted him,since the subsidy removal the economy has been noting to write about,yet he is coming up with a more terible policies as this on poeple livlyhood what then does he expect,people 2 do ?no jobs yet hes making poeple more redundant,if you ask me ,hhe should have made alternatives b4 the ban on okada,becos these poeple have a right to live any where in nigeria and survive just as he does,i ashamed of nigeria, it does not care for its citizen that is y noting is woerking in nigeria,except 4 corroption ,what a pity,if geting a visa out of this country i can imagine how deserted these hell geographicalspheres wud hav bin empty.cme to tink of it can any body tell me what is working in favour of the masses in nigeria?no light ,no jobs ,no housing provision,common water which are essential nessecity are not in place, yet in a democratic system like nigeria poeple live like enemies,cause of frustration,caused by the failiur of the govment,it is indeed very sadning ,what is the hope of the younger generation coming up?the truth be told im indeed disapointed in this govenment.
