Babangida Condenms Muslims Who Celebrated Yakowa’s Death

It really beats my imagination that anyone would celebrate the death of a fellow human:
“No matter the religion one professes, the simple tenet is that we should sympathise with the dead and the bereaved and pray for the repose of the soul of the departed whose death is a colossal loss.
“Immediately we start praying for our leaders to die, then we are asking that the whole society should die. We must pray for our leaders. We must go back to our faith and practise our religion as demanded by the almighty Allah.
“We must talk to our children. We must be involved in the moral and religious education of our children. This development shows that we are failing in the duty to train our children.”
Niger State Governor. Babangida Aliyu, chided those who celebrated the death of Kaduna State Governor Patrick Yakowa, describing them as “unreligious and inhuman”.

Governor Babangida made the remark while receiving the Speaker of Niger House of Assembly, Alhaji Adamu Usman, who led other members of the Assembly to pay a condolence visit on him.

He described Yakowa as a bridge-builder, who brought Muslims and Christians in Kaduna State together, saying the late governor provided peace and tranquillity.

  7. This is an indication that nigeria is not one and must never be one b/cos of the diverse nature of the ethnic nationalities. Only a roundtable talk to negotiate the entity called nigeria will solve the problem of hatred among its citizens.
    Marriage is not by force.

  8. I stand to repeat myself again and again Nigeria as a nation is sitting on a gun of powder. The issue of ethnicity has overide that of nationality. Peoples mind set are been made known daily by their comment. So, those at the helm of affair must be careful with their actions. Moreso, the forceful marriage that formed Nigeria will be 100years in 2014. For the western nations expectation not to come to pass. Let us do away with ethnicity and embrace nationality.

  10. Hi Guys
What is the population of Nigeria that we cannot have abundant Housing, Clothing, Food, Hospitals, Good Road, water, Adequate security, etc

Unemployment in Nigeria is 21%(estimate) and USA/CANADA/UK/etc are 9%/7.5%/8%/etc.
These are the reasons behind the jubilation. It is Babangida and co that you needed to face.
Guys, think and think. Leaders are the causes of problems. What are we doing with 11 planes in PAF?
    John.

  11. We should all think straight, why is
England for the English, France for the
    french, Germany for the Germans,
Norway for the Norwegians and so on
and so forth, why can't they merge as
one country? believe you me, if they
do, their problems will be more than
that of Africa. Here we are, insisting on
a map drawn by the colonialist, who
had nothing good in mind for us. Let
Igboland be for the Igbos, yorubaland
for the yorubas, hausaland for the
hausas, and you will see, peace will
reign and progress will be the order of
    the day.
