The respected general overseer of Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo has reacted to insinuations in certain quarters that he is ripping off church members through Tithes and Offering to live in affluence and cruising in private jets, while some of his congregation do not have enough food to eat.
Below is how the man of God reacted to the allegations:
"The last time Church paid my salary was December 1987, nobody heard it, not even the Ministers in the church until 1997 and church members didn’t hear this until 2007″.
“In January of 1988, my wife asked me of money for feeding and I told her I had give my salary to God, and that was the last time she ever had to ask for feeding till date.”
Responding to accusations that he uses poor people’s money to build universities and turn around to fix school fees that the same poor people can’t afford to pay, Bishop Oyedepo simply said:
“Covenant university was built within 7 months without any collection of any one naira -- tithes and offerings or donation of any kind from anywhere.”
So where the billions of Naira came from nau? I've never heard that he has another business.... I DONT UNDERSTAND O!!!!! O.I.

This man has four jets that cost 32 billion naira !If this man says that he is not getting the money form his church EFCC should go after him cos the way he spends money is suspicious.He doesn't help the charity as a man of God.Thus he is not a man of God cos he value worldly things more than his church members they normally give him the money he is been spent.Now he is lying that the money doesn't come from church ! He is a thief them!Thia man try to help the the poor don't be selfish.You are spending church money just you and your family members. Is not good ! We all shall die one day ! here is not our home ! He saw people going out during offering and tithe with ghana must go bags.He was surprised thus he asked him companion do they give clothes in the church as well ?The person told him no.He then asked him again what could be inside all these ghana must go bags that they are carrying to the alter ? the person told him it was tithe money.Obasanjo opened his mouth and left before the church closed.The next day he called chief financial management to confirm where this man has account. They told him the bank's name.He then called the manager's of the bank and asked how much does winner chapel had with them. The manger told him trillion but i don't remember how many trillion they told him. Obasanjo sparked and said, so church could have this type of money? infact if churches could have this sort of money then they will start paying tax. Do you remember years back when obasanjo said that the churches must starting paying tax ? He talked that cos of this man and since then he has never been to his church again cos he so jealous to see people going out to pay such a huge amount of money as a tithe! ReplyDeleteThe truth which the bishop carefully left out is the collection of project offering and pledges that they got members to make and then preached daily for them to redeem it. It is sad that he displays the level of arrogance selective tails. I pray that God will one day open the eyes of the members.
