Senators of the Federal Republic of Nigeria are expected to take delivery of their official Toyota Land Cruiser Jeeps this week, all things being equal.
The cost per unit of the 2011 model of the Jeep obtained from...
the manufacturer's website is $100,724 - about N16,115, 840. The total cost of the vehicles for the 109 senators is put at over N1.7 billion.
A competent source in the National Assembly disclosed that the senators opted for the Land Cruiser Jeep because of its unique features.
When asked to confirm the story, a senator who spoke on condition of anonymity simply said "we have been on this issue for some time."

ReplyDeleteWe are in serious problem in dis country, our politicians & self acclaimed leaders are prepared 2 milk d nation dry & dis are pple dat promised 2 represent d interest of d masses but on getting 2 office reverse use 2 be d case. I strongly sympathies with d nations workforce whose welfare & wellbeign is not taken into consideratn. For over two & a half yrs d issue of meagre #18:000 minimum wage has bn lingering on but our govts @ all level are so poor dat they cant afford it,but wen it comes 2 extravagant, lavish, frivolous & bazar spending dat cannot do d nation any good, dat will profit our politicians, trust, cash will be readily available even if it will involve taken loans or going 2 forex market @ exhorbitant interest rates.Dis cant be done 2 gif d worker a good living,it cant be done 2 either fix our roads, pipe borne water, electricity, schools our hospitals are nothing 2 write home abt etc. Dis is very shameful indeed for a nation dat bears Giant of Africa. When countries like Ghana, South Africa etc are now serving as abode 4 our leaders
