"Of course! The whole country is corrupt. The judiciary is part of the country so naturally, it should be corrupt. The judicial corruption is a dangerous phenomenon but I am more interested in engaging the system to expose these corrupt people. The biggest agent of corruption is the media. It is entrenched and sucked into the way of life.
"A section of the media has been paid to divert attention from the evil going on in the petroleum sector. And it is dangerous for us."
Popular human rights activist, Femi Falana, stated this in a recent chat while urging the media to rise up to the demands of the moment and stay on the side of the Nigerian people.
True if the media is sincere all this corruption wont succeed

ReplyDeleteI kept asking mysdelf, where did we lost it...while the millitary junta was in power prior to 1999, the present political dogs stealing us blind now were mostly residing outside the country, campaigning globally, using the all media available to press home their demands. The likes of Tinubu and other NADECO chieftains. They all claim one cause, to fight for the emancipation of their people(us). But alas, we were all wrong, we ca now see where all their interests all lies, some says their hands are tied on the present situation of the coutry but its all a fuse, every one of them is just looking for an opportunity to get involved not in governsnce per se, but in the looting of the country's treasury.
ReplyDeleteThe media has been a huge disappointment, I remember back then how we keep copies of Tell magazines cause of of the truth it contains, decisive and brilliant journalism at work. Where is the advocacy of radio kudirat, i felt it has been used to achieve its purpose. To bring the rich and wealthy back into power in Nigeria.
If the media can keep the present goverment on its toes and do more than what we had prior to 1999 to kick out the millitary...then and only then can we have hope. God help Nigeria.
