A Nigerian who’s a trained Aerospace Systems Engineer, Mr. Ben Nnaji has disclosed that all indeed was not well with the ill-fated Dana Airliner that killed over 160 people in Lagos, Nigeria, on Sunday.
Below is how Olufamous.com captured Mr. Nnaji's terrific experience with the plane’s crew 10days before the tragic incident:
"I was on this same Dana plane on the 23rd of May 2012. It was delayed from take off from MMA2, I saw the Philippine mechanics with buckets draining out hydraulic fluid under the left side under carriage tyre mechanism, a part was taken out but not replaced, yet we were told to board.
"I told the flight supervisor my name that am an aerospace systems engineer and am concerned at the operational state of the plane, the guy told me to see the pilot, I did, he was a Caribbean decent capt & new zealand asian looking co-pilot, he confirmed work was done and asked how I knew, I said I saw it from the windows of the airport and the part was not replaced that I also saw the mechanics Philippine & indian guys under the plane, he told me don't worry if its not ok we won't fly.
"I pinged my family and friends of what I saw and the names of the people I spoke to. Should anything happen as well as asking that the plane is taken off but am just a simple powerless passenger. We landed and the pilot waited at d door to shake me as to say I told u.
"Sadly this plane wasn't taken off service to sort out the hydraulic leak or landing gear problem because it was still making money for indians in Dana, now this Dana plane has killed my friend Ehime, levy & ijeamaka & 150 others. All because they refused a simple precaution advice over their financial wants. My story can be checked from dana Airline/MMA2 logs. May God burn you all in Dana."

All these revelations are enough for a serious minded government to do something drastic about DANA but trust GEJ and his cabals, it will end as business as usual. So sad for Nigeria.
ReplyDeleteWhat is even worse is that the ministry of Aviation doesnt even have a dedicated number where Nigerians can call to report such issues whenever the they occur...just playing with peoples lives.
ReplyDeleteJULIUS
Indians have done alot of harms 2 dis country am still asking if it was in their country will they allow such plane to take off? Please FG if this issue ends as business as usual God will punish all of u 1 by 1 enough is enough how more life will go before we nigerians we rise up an speak 4 Gods sake?
ReplyDeleteIf dana air is not closed down, then d problems av just begun
ReplyDeleteThis is a great tragedy, but I think there is one thing to do, to force this company out of business in Nigeria. This must start from the Federal Govt(which I doubt)to revoke their license to operate henceforth, and to bring up classic suit against this company by all families of those who died in the crash, and pay heavily for the properties they destroyed. Lastly, to implore people and companies not to patronize them again. By the time all these are executed, they company and the shareholders will know what really hit them.
ReplyDeleteWe can not bring back the dead ones, but something must be done to avoid such re-ocurrence...Good government knows what to do about the air line which neglects it's safety procedures.....May God grant the departed souls eternal rest in JESUS name Amen.
ReplyDeleteMy People in Nigeria, They will close it down and sell it to another GANGSTER with a new name. They will re-paint it with another LOGO, but you are still flying the DANA AIRLINE CASKET. As for me and my Family, NIGERIA DOMESTIC AIRLINE IS A TABU!!! Jimmie J.
ReplyDeleteWhen these kind of Parasites invade Nigeria and someone with Vision and expertise like Dr nnaji speaks, these scums refuses to listen. Now Nigerians u see the result?? God burn these Indians and Lebanese ppl who come to Nigeria to make blood money!!
ReplyDeleteStrict Regulatory flying rules must be proposed, adopted and enforced by the Nigerian govt for all these airlines. Enough of this blood shed!!
ReplyDeletehmmmmm dont let us blame its only on dana air wht abt our gov is it bad for our gov to hav an aerospace systems engineer under our govment to check on any flight b4 taking off 4rm our airport but coruption wont alow us if we investigate abt this company call dana in india u will find out its nothing in india but wellcome here in nigeria coruption is our problem and if we disagree to lose 100 plp in fighting this corupt leader we gonna lose 1000 plp in let them go free not everybody like to fly by air but road that surpose to be fun is bad to drive where re we going in this nation
ReplyDelete"On hearing about the plane crash, I decided to board a cross country bus back 2lagos,after all passengers were boarded, a customer asked the driver to put on the ac,the drivers' response was "its not working",everyone on board took it as fate including I, saying to myself " just get me to lagos ac or not" but the dissatisfied customer did not however stop,he called the customer care number on his ticket,& insisted that the reason he travels cross country is because of their services, and asked why this was changing,to my greatest surprise, the bus was changed and an air conditioned bus was provided, that's when it struck me.
ReplyDeleteshame on the person that sent a broadcast saying he had flown in the said aircraft before, and witnessed the problems. why did he not send out a broadcast then and perhaps his complains might have reached the aviation minister, shame on the engineers that are just telling us now that the plane was 22yrs old and should have never hit airspace, shame on everyone sending silly broadcast msgs saying ur picture or mine would never be used as a dp with Rip next to it, cos that's all we are content with, once we, our family and our friends are safe we keep on striving powerlessly in this country that have shattered our dreams & hopes,I don't plan to live 4ever & I consider it a privileged to be on alot of peoples dp when my time comes, it would simply mean I stood for something, Worse of all shame on all those who signed a condolence broadcast just to be associated with the stars who signed before them, I really don't understand how that would change anything, its not the country or our leaders that is the problem, it is us, we are killing ourselves,if we do not reject this our submissive way of living we would continue to die in our thousands,I am not pointing fingers at anyone, we are all guilty, I am just saying it is time we stand up and make a change or we would keep dying
