The General Overseer of Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo has been asked to pay N2 billion within 14 days as general damages or face legal action, for the death of three-year-old Imienfan Omokaro.
A letter written by Omokaro’s Counsel, Prince Peter E. Uwadiae-Igbinigie and, dated November 28, 2012 and made available to journalists in Benin, explained that the amount was “for the callous and senseless killing of our client’s daughter, Miss Imienfan Omokaro.”
From what I hear, the little girl got drowned at Kingdom Heritage Model School operated by Winners Chapel in Benin.
But is N2billion not too much? Are they trying to equate money with life?

Let them go for out of court settlement pls
ReplyDeleteFor de fact dat she got drowned, is it bishop David oyedepo dat killed her? Accident happens every where. My advise to the girls parent is find a way to resolve it amicably.
ReplyDeleteThey said the school authorities kept the girl for more than an hour after she drowned, praying for her instead of seeking medical attention.
ReplyDelete2billion + a private jet is still too small for the cost(worth) of dat child! The school must be expensive & meant for children of big boys.
ReplyDeleteBut y cant d church reach out to her family fot d sake of peace? Ella
ReplyDeleteTemptation is inevitable, it is Bishop's today, it might be yours tomorrow. Man of God, may God see you through this temptation.
ReplyDeletedat money is even too small, next tym they will kno d diffrence btw hospital & their fake prayers.......dan
ReplyDeletethat one even too small, the kind of money pastor's ar eaten in nigeria it ottragous.
ReplyDeletefor Godsake is that accidents cant happen anywhere again? will the 3 billion bring the child back? did pst Oyedepo do the drowning himself or was it during baptism? ps i think we shud start using our heads and leave judgement for God.
ReplyDeleteThis man is a billionaire ! This man has 4 privates that costed $225 million USA dollars. convert to Nigerian currency 32 billion naira. This mas has the largest and most expensive universities in Nigeria. To evaluate his university we should be talking of 100 billion naira each. He man has about 500 pieces of transport buses running across lagos. This man is more than a rich man. Pity him but not too much cos 2billion is just like 2 naira to him.

That's why he said is the 2billion not too much not that he tying to support him. This man needs to pay 200 billion sef after all he not helping charity. He focus in buying plane with 8 billion each. now he has 4 plane imagine .most corrupt man of God in Nigeria is this man.
ReplyDeleteFrom a personal point of view, the primary schools owned by the said church are not near the most expensive. The death of the 3 year old was not caused by the Bishop. Somebody some where must have been negligent in the discharge of his or her duty. I think the school must have taken up such staff on the out come of the negligence. The parent's are however free to ask for whatever they think their daughter is worth in this case. But to those asking for the head of the Bishop and referring to prayers as useless, I have this to say that thesame people would still have hailed such prayers if the little girl had received the miracle of life restoration through prayers. Importantly, there are some details this short report refused to furnish us with to warrant the kind of insult and conclusions commentators are jumping at.
ReplyDeleteI wish the family of the little girl the fortitude to bear the loss and hope that this particular event serves as a lesson to other schools on how such incidences should be prevented in future. No amount of money demanded can justify any action against the school as the report is not explicit to lead one to the right conclusion.
