The founder and Senior Pastor of the Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC), Matthew Ashimolowo has said clergymen who own private jets could be saving lots of monies for their congregations.
Speaking as a guest on Channels Television’s weekend programme, Sunrise, Pastor Ashimolowo accused the media of blowing out of proportion the recent acquisition of a private jet by a Nigerian pastor insisting that only few out of the myriads of clergy in the country own jets.
He said “Out of probably 20 million clergy, there may not be more than six" who own private jets. “There is a blowing out of proportion by the media because six people out of 20 million is not a large proportion.
"Then when you take those four or six individuals look at their itinerary and find out; is it even saving money for their organisation to have it or is it costing the organisation?” Pastor Ashimolowo pointed out.

The church should lead the fight against poverty in Nigeria and help take several families out of poverty from the money the make through offerings
ReplyDeleteA very wise man indeed.May God bless him 4 say d truth
ReplyDeleteWho expect this rogue to have contrary to his 419 call pastors in Nigeria? This fool nearly went to jail here when he used church funds to buy shares for himself in Florida. He allocated yearly salary of 200.000.00 pounds sterling to himself before the eyes of Queen caught him.
ReplyDelete20 million pastors if I heard him right, how many are we in Nigeria? How many are Christians, then minus Catholics, Anglicans, baptist, Methodist, c & s etcc. How many are Pentecostals then. If we have 20million pastor, who then is quoting out of proportion?

ReplyDeleteThe problem with many of u Nigerians is that u always prove 2 know, when u dont know anything.I want all of u that are critics to go and find out the cost of a jet and the congregation of the Pastors that own a jet.Check out the tithe and alot of other free will offerings that anyone can give to the man of God,then u ll know if they deserved it or not.If u r from poor family and u r serving a God that is rich and that God performs wonder in your life, nothing is too much 2 give as offering. How the Pastor(General over-seer) used his salary or gifts is no man business. And you(olu famous)be careful of what u write about men of God so that u dont attract the wrath of God.
ReplyDeleteGod have mercy upon everybody
