A Malaysian court on Sunday sentenced a Nigerian man to death after convicting him of trafficking more than 14 kilos (31 pounds) of drugs over the land border with Thailand.
The court said there was little doubt Moses Chinedu Nwosu, 50, was guilty of the crime - punishable with death by hanging - after the drugs were seized from him on the night of March 25, 2011.
Mr. Nwosu had claimed that the drugs carried in a black bag belonged to another man he was travelling with from the Thai border to the northern Malaysian town of Alor Setar.
“However, according to a witness, Moses was seen carrying the black bag… and its key was found in his pocket,” the judge said.
His death sentence is the latest in a clampdown by Malaysian authorities on foreign drug traffickers.

ReplyDeleteWe are talking about drugs, now they have exported campus cultism too, into Malaysian colleges, they now have pistols and parade in secret groups of black axe, vikings, aiye confraternity etc! The Ambassador knows this, but he is busy nursing his large stomach!. gangsterism & flamboyancy has become the lifestyle!! Asians are rich but hide themselves living a simple lifestyle, a poor naija boy will get small change and rent a big car, buy large Gold necklaces and rolex thus causing them to raise suspicion and start monitoring him, he will not remember his old mother's kitchen roof that is leaking!, when he see his broda, wife he will go to gossip and destroy the marriage and use the lady as a drug passenger! these are what naija do to fellow naija oh!, Coming to Nigeria, this is good for our government to learn! we give police protection to foreigners who do not even have valid papers! but the same people make our brothers jump from a 33 storey building to their death!, running from immigration and police! shame to our mentality. we are rich but lack of management, good government and sensible rulers has made us poor and our passport a taboo!.
