Boko Haram members attacked her along New Jerusalem Road, Damaturu, last weekend and killed her during the bombing spree that left over 150 Nigerians dead.
This incident has left great pain in the hearts of Eucharia's family and friends. One wonders why the NYSC leadership have refused to wake up to the realities on ground and take their decisions objectively. This is not the time to "foster National unity" by sending other peoples children to dangerous places while the children of the rich are kept in cozy offices in Abuja and Lagos.
It has never been reported that the son or daughter of a serving Minister, Senator or Governor died in any of these incidents. Abi them pikin no dey do NYSC? Food for thought! But how come Nigerian parents have also not taking NYSC to court over this act of wickedness? They MUST wake up from their slumber and begin to fight for the enforcement of their rights. Nobody can help you in this regard.
May the soul of Eucharia rest in peace. Amen.
I'm speechless.... Infact, i'm weak. This government has failed us completely and i'm sorry to say that at this rate, this country will have to divide. Are these boko people spirits?! Why has nothing been done? A bunch of faceless illiterate morons have been given so much power that they had the president sit in his villa on independence day....

This is cruel and stupid. What is exactly the justification for this NYSC scheme? Why can't it be scrapped and send people from 18 years old instead to the army? Someone somewhere whose son or daughter is studying abroad with no risk whatever does not see the need to discontinue this crap called NYSC. I doubt the person will have the will power to continue if the person looses his or her daughter. To hell with NYSC

ReplyDelete...to me NYSC is government's way of looking for free and cheap labour... I went through it and I don't think it made me any better...I lived in the north with fear and trepidation the whole of my 1 year, I lost my freedom, I was suspicious of every godammit northerner... NYSC traumatized me...

I cannot afford to be living in the north with fear and insecurity unable to sleep at night and walk during the day while the fuckers walk freely in my own southern land having all the benefits of our generous ways... This is so disturbing. This lady has just been martyred for NO JUST REASON. May her soul rest in perfect peace. And I sincerely pray for the "Boko Harams" to receive their forgiveness and a change of Spirit so that their soul will not head to hell cuz these are definitely the devil's tools. WHY WOULD I AGREE TO GO TO A PLACE WHERE I KNEW IS NOT CERTAIN THAT I WILL RETURN BACK? IS MY LIFE NOT WORTH MORE THAN USELESS SERVICE?
I THINK WE SHOULD ALL STAND UP AND SAY NO TO THE YEARLY SACRIFICE OF OUR YOUTH'S LIFE IN THE NORTH EVERY YEAR!
Honesty we have just been struggling to be one, but the fact remains that our unity will continue to be a mirage until we come together to tell ourselves the truth and if possible let every one go their seperate ways in peace. ReplyDelete...just a couple of weeks ago, we had a consultant to come and do something for our company, the task would take about two weeks to complete. Around that time there was bomb scare in Abuja... their country refused them coming, their company refused them coming saying it can be done via remote desktop... we told them the bomb scare is not anywhere even near Port Harcourt, that from the airport to the office is armed military escort of no less than 3 hilux, 20 armed soldiers... and that the escort is everywhere they go to which is mainly office and lodging place... they said NO NO NO... and these expatriates are not even the best minds in their country, they are just regular guys that we chose from the many list of regular European guys!...
But in Nigeria, our own government will send us to our death... and the worst of it all is that we go unprotected, uncatered for, no accommodation, no money except a paltry sum... have you ever served?...we were treated like animals!.... we served in schools where we cannot discipline students!... they get promoted to the next class even when they failed exams!... so what's the point in teaching then?...the very students you teach rape you, the very students assault you and you are defenseless because you are not in your own territory!... Nigerian government is heartless and insensitive!.... NYSC should be sued to court for endangerment of citizen's life!

ReplyDeletehow i wish i did not know dis young lady, d fact i do makes it so painful...for all d government officials dat post people to d north knowing the perils dat follow d northerners d blood of any innocent corper dat dies becos of dis sect will be on their head and for any innocent parent dat loose their child to these hoodlums in d name of NYSC, so shall they loose their own loved ones until they decide to do something with dis power vested on them...this wickedness has got to stop, we may not have d power but we have d voice...

ReplyDeleteI perfectly agree with what the comment at 16.02 said, but we should stop blaming Jonathan, will he order the killing of every moslem from the North to get boko haram? its intelligence and it takes time,for now don't allow your wards to be posted for service in the north,don't! these people are evil trouble makers, every community that host them pays dearly;they're testy for their innocent blood; look at Zonkwa, Kafanchan etc, the Christians in the South and North cannot leave Nigeria for them, they don't even have the brains to govern; its only looting they know.

ReplyDeleteIndeed, the Eucharia Remmy is a tragic; many Nigerians are mourning for this beast"BOKO HARAM" that is risen to take innocent lives for its pleasure.
As a matter of fact, I believe that Boko Haram's name, which being interpreted “western education is a sin”; has emerged as an eclipse against the nation’s infant democracy. But like every other natural eclipse the world has ever experienced, she will soon give way for this infant democracy to grow into adulthood. In case if they need to understand the power of "unity in nature". The East, West, North and South are the four main cardinal points of the sailors’ compass, which when not properly balanced will leave the ship directionless.
A simple mathematics goes further to show that if we divide the period of time (i.e.; 24hours) required for a complete revolution of the earth around the Sun by these 4 points, we shall have for each revolution per 1 cardinal point, 6 hours for every new rotation of the earth around the Sun. Meaning that no day is complete without these 4 cardinal points completing their respective revolutions.
In this context, the term " western education is a sin"( which is an indirect attempt to remove the western world), is a movement against nature. The resultant effect has been; and ever will produce a disastrous end for all members of such group. But Boko Haram members have been deceived to think that God is behind them - while in the real sense they are acting like "Judas Iscariot" who chose suicide as a way of escape from his sins.
We are sympathizing with the United Nations and all the families of the victims of that August 26, 2011 attack.
Finally, I would like to have the contact details of the family of Eucharia Remmy; all other members of NYSC at your disposal.
I will be carrying out a national condolence for these families, as God leads me.
