“If President Hosni Mubarak could go to jail and other corrupt leaders in Asia and North Africa, it is a pointer that former President Obasanjo will go to jail,” he stressed.
Falana - who spoke on Tuesday at an event organised by a civil society coalition in commemoration of June 12, 1993, presidential election, in Osun State - said Obasanjo became far richer when he ended his presidential tenure than when he got into office, hence there is need to probe him.
He also disclosed that it was illegal for retired military rulers such as Gen Yakabu Gowon, Gen Ibrahim Babangida, and Gen Abubakar Abdulsalami, to attend the Council of State meetings.

ReplyDeleteWhy only Obasanjo? Why didn't Falana mention IBB and Buhari? What of innocent people that died by government sponsored assassination during military rule? Falana is only picking on Obasanjo because Obasanjo called his lawmaker friends robbers. Why couldn't the lawmakers summon Obasanjo to the House of Representatives or the senate? Are they not 90% cowards and robbers?
