In the course of seeking more information on this very weighty allegation against the first lady, Patience Jonathan, Olufamous.com observed that indeed "something was wrong" but nobody want to be quoted word-for-word, of fear of the unknown.
And since we can't afford to trade on 'mere rumours', Olufamous.com has to take the position of Mr. Victor Aguku on the matter. Below is how he captured it:
"Let Ade Atobatele (if he does exist) and Nigerians know that the Nigerian Air space can only be closed for 10 minutes only when an Aircraft conveying the President approaches an airport and 10 minutes after landing. A total accumulation of 20minutes by regulations.
"And let Ade and Nigerians also note that the Air space can never be closed for an aircraft conveying the first lady or any other individual in Nigeria. Let Nigerians know that regulations gives a code red preference to any aircraft on "May Day" (in danger) distress against any other aircraft even if its presidential. A presidential will be asked to divert towards a military airbase in case of a conflict in interest of landing.
"As we are aware, flight 0992 had called for MAY DAY 11mins before its ETA (estimated time of arrival). At 11mins, the aircraft had prepared for landing. No aircraft is allowed to prepare for landing in an airspace that is closed. 20mins to landing, an aircraft as large as the boeing MD-83 can only commence descend from its cruise altitude.
"Where then is the logic in Ade's story? Let Ade also take note that the traffic control unit at the airport has confirmed that the air space was actually closed for 15mins for the Dana Air flight 0992 to perform an emergency landing before the unfortunate incidence."
Olu dont be surprised because people are afraid of what may happen to them if they openly say what they know. But something was amiss and the truth shall come out one day.

ReplyDeleteBut i strongly believe that this issue of closing airspace because of one person is a dangerous practice, u dont hear the US airspace closing because of Obama... if the practice was not ongoing people wont even have room for the so called rumour (whether true or false)
ReplyDeletewe can not always remain pessimists. I do not like GEJ nor his wife but a coincidence of her jet landing at about the same interval of the crash must not always be twisted justy to hang them. Nigerians, let us be fortright.
ReplyDeleteIf only they can truly reveal what's in the black box. I still think, that its possible they truly blocked a certain portion of the airspace! Because when the first lady came to asaba, they blocked almost all the major entrances to asaba town, they only left the express! Inconvenienced the residents of the town for many hours until she left! Abuse of power is the order of the day! May God continue to comfort the bereaved families. Nothing is hidden under the sun

ReplyDeleteInitially I totally refuse to belief this story, but since I confirm that they closed Asaba down for hours because of first lady, then there is room to belief that they could close the airspace down too for her, in Nigeria anything and everything is possible when in power

Yes we do not like d president, but why use evil just like this to give a dog a bad name cos we want to kill it?!
