As many Nigerians already suspected before the trial of the alleged fuel subsidy fraudsters commenced, Olufamous.com gathered that the case is set to end up like many others before it. The Lagos High Court trying the case on Thursday granted bail to Mahmud Tukur, son of Bamanga Tukur, PDP chairman.
He was granted bail alongside Ochonogor Alex and Abdullahi Alao. The court then fixed November 13 for their trial, that is almost four months from today.
The court also granted bail to Mamman Nasir Ali, son of Ahmadu Ali, former national chairman of PDP, and Christian Taylor. These ones will return to court on October 30 for trial.
However, information going around is that these high profile individuals played significant financial roles in the election of President Goodluck Jonathan in 2011 and have thus sent a strong warning to the President to stop their prosecution or face a full disclosure of how they funneled close to $1 billion towards his 2011 presidential campaign through the Minister of Petroleum, Diezani Allison-Madueke and the Minister of Niger Delta, Godsday Orubebe.
Sources say operators of Ontario Oil and Gas Limited whose MD, Adaoha Ugo-Ngadi, was docked along with 20 others, have sent a very incriminating information to President Jonathan.
It was learned that the accused Ontario Oil chieftains were shocked by the public humiliation brought upon them by the EFCC. The most powerful member of the Ontario clan, Mr. Walter Wagbatsoma, reportedly left Nigeria for Paris shortly before the commencement of prosecution by the EFCC.
Meanwhile, EFCC officials have confirmed that Mr. Wagbatsoma has not written any statement or appeared before the agency even though he was listed as one of those to be arraigned by the EFCC. He is believed to have the key to unlocking the involvement of Mrs. Diezani Allison-Madueke in the oil subsidy fraud.
Mr. Wagbatsoma is listed as the owner of several companies used to siphon funds from the oil industry, they include: Ontario Oil & Gas Ltd., Ontario Trading Ltd, Ontario Storage Terminals Ltd., Ontario Vessels Ltd., Ontario Drilling and Engineering Services.
A source in Abuja also said that Mr. Orubebe, the Minister of Niger Delta, is on the board of Ontario Oil, although he may not be publicly listed.
In Lagos On Thursday, his prosecution suffered another setback as the court adjourned again following the failure of Mr. Wagbatsoma to appear for his trial.

ReplyDeleteIs anyone surprised here? I don't think so. We already know these things that is what Nigeria is since the return to democracy.
ReplyDeleteNo need to waste time just spill the beans so that all of you will go to jail together and rot their for killing this country... Kalu
ReplyDeleteAbout 95% of big men in Nigeria became what they are at the expense of the Nigerians masses. What a country of fraudsters!
ReplyDeleteWhen Ngige became Anambra governor,he came through unpleasant way but forth back to his sponsors to win the heart of the state.Today he is no 1 both past and present. It will be a shameful thing if Jonathan did not prove himself at this opportunity by taking the bull by the horn and face this so call his friends in pdp despite they sponsored him.The masses will back him if he dare them and he will triumph at the end of putting them to jail.He will gain respect and trust from the masses. From Jonathan past records,he will fail in this test.Let the masses rise up if he compromise with them because this is an opportunity for the mass to start revolution like they did in Egpyt.Even 1000 peopel can start revolution the first day and before you know it,hundreds of thousand will join.Lets wait and see this drama fellow Nigerians.
ReplyDeleteIts now true that power corrupt absolute power corrupt absolutely. We have seen how Jonathan use his power after the demise of Yaradua to siphon Nigeria money for his electioneering campaign. Now the cat is out of the bag. This case will expose how competent our president is to rule this country. It will be a shame for this country if we the poor masses fail to rise to this occasion if this case is also sweep under the carpet.
ReplyDeleteCome on and expose everybody, in fact after expose you will see they will not go to jail
ReplyDeletemy friend, the young Tukur is well educated and capable of running any business as he has been doing from a very young age., The truth is that corruption is so endemic in Nigeria that the most straight forward person will get entangled. Most marketers don"t have much choice than to do what they have done because they are made to pay heavily for their import allocation. so tell me how do you expect them to cover up their margin.Ask any marketer they will tell you that madam petroleum minister, through her against in government collect millions of Dollars before you can get allocation. Have you wondered why kerosene that is allocated at N40.90 Ex VAT is resold for as high as N110 Ex depot in Lagos and yet government can"t do anything about it? Its because marketers are made to pay heavily for it, in turn have to sell much higher to cover up for this extra expenses, they also have to factor other cost such as overhead cost, throughput, operational cost and various rent seekers.
ReplyDeleteIf this Probe is done Justly my friend GEJ will be removed from office and all past head of states will as well will run from this country. The Navy, customs, DPR, PPPRA, Debt Management office (DMO),CBN and all commercial Banks are all involved.

DeleteTowards the end of the April 2011 election, I said this may probably be the most expensive election in Nigeria. I knew money exchanged hands even to the nonenetities. This was all because somebody wanted to rule by all means! Oga Jonathan must have wondered why such huge amount of money - naira, yen, dollars, pounds, etc were coming from oil barons and must have concluded that these vampires must have been milking Nigeria dry and so together with his employs with bad belle decided to remove the fuel subsidy. It is a known fact that trillions must have been fraudulently involved in the fuel subsidy. Ole lo nmo ese ole too lori apata (only thieves can discern the path of other thieves) mscheeeeeeeeeew.
