Before now, there were series of insinuations and side talks with regards to the retirement of Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God. Even during his 70th birthday, certain authorities in the church, it was reported, gathered to raise a motion that the man of God should be retired as he clocked 70.
This, the said authorities reasoned, is in line with the Church's policy.
But in one of the articles written by the man of God, it was discovered that he has already written about the kind of retirement he wants. In this literary work, he well explained how he intends to retire.
The article culled from the Open Heavens annual publication of Monday October 3rd, 2011, Daddy Adeboye, as he’s fondly called wrote about ‘The True Face of Retirement”.
He said God has so much to give to man, and the spirit man has so much space to be filled by God….."Sometimes, when I see some of our elders retiring, I shake my head because contrary to what they think, it is only the beginning for them. Retirement actually means more time to pray all night since you are not going to the office in the morning.
“The greatest literally work done by John the Beloved was the Book of Revelation - a revelation he got while banished on the Island of Patmos. If God allows me to retire, I would sit at His feet daily and learn from Him, receive revelations and pour these into books for generations unborn. This way, by His grace, I could produce a book every month until he calls me home.”
Obviously, this should tell those clamouring for his retirement that the respected man of God whose regime as the G.O brought so much goodness to the church may not necessarily retired according to the wishes of men but that of God.

That is the right thing to do, no human should force Daddy GO out of the place. Let God guide him accordingly

ReplyDeleteHe should retire as John did,to give others chance to bring new spiritual ideas like the founding father of his church did. He should not make it contrvertial.
ReplyDeleteTHE ELDERS OF REDEEMED CHRISTIAN CHURCH OF GOD SHOULD LEARN FROM THE FALL OF THE ISRAELITES WHEN THEY PERSISTENTLY ASKED PROPHET SAMUEL TO RETIRE AND INSTALL A KING IN HIS PLACE, BECAUSE HE WAS OLD -1 SAMUEL 8:1-5 THE TOGETHERNESS OF THE CHUCH (RCCG) ALL OVER THE WORLD TODAY IS BECAUSE YOU ALLLOW GOD TO LEAD YOU THROUGH HIS CHOSEN VESSEL - PASTOR ADEBOYE.. GOD TOLD PROPHET SAMUEL IN VERSES 6-7: THE ISRAELITES HAVE NOT REJECTED SAMUEL BUT I, THEIR CREATOR TO LEAD THEM. THE OLDER A MAN OF GOD BECOMES,THE MORE PURIFIED, SINLESS, HOLIER AND NEARER TO GOD HE BRINGS GODS PEOPLE. I ADVISE THE RCCG ELDERS TO PLS EXERCISE CAUTION WITH PRAYER AND LOVE IN DEALING WITH PASTOR ADEBOYE ISSUE SO THAT YOUR ACTION WILL NOT BE SEEN AS EQUIVALENT TO ASKING GOD TO RETIRE, WAIT FOR GOD DIRECTIVES ON THIS ISSUE OTHERWISE............

ReplyDeletePeople retires and credible churches retires for a lift up of the church. He should not be greed, afterall his predicesor retired or did he not?.
ReplyDeleteSome assistant Pastors of his church were retired at the age of 70. That is the rule governed by the church. If he oversaw the retirement of these junior pastors,the greatest honour he can do to himself is to retire since he has clocked seventy.
ReplyDeleteSomeone retired b4 he took his present position as a general overseer.He can contribute to the church in so many other ways.No one human being is indespensible! Retirement gives opportunity for the young to rise up and do the same God's work.
