Ex-Police Inspector General Arraigned For Fraud In Abuja

Nigeria's former Inspector General of Police, Mr. Sunday Ehindero, was on Thursday arraigned at an Abuja High Court for financial misappropriation during his tenure as IG.

During his tenure as police IG, Mr. Ehindero allegedly connived with the now suspended commissioner of Police in-charge of Budgets, John Obaniyi, to launder N557 million.

Hence, he is being arraigned following an order on June 6th 2012, by Justice Mudashiru Oniyangi. The Justice had ordered the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC) to charge Mr. Ehindero for money laundering.
