Nigerians have been reassured by President Goodluck Jonathan that the controversial fuel subsidy report will not be swept under the carpet like previous reports. He stressed that there would be no hiding place for all those indicted in the House of Reps fuel subsidy probe report.
Reacting to the delay in taking actions against indicated marketers, President Jonathan said it was because of his administration desire to establish water-tight cases against everyone involved in the scandal.
The president, who gave the explanation in Brussels, Belgium, while addressing Nigerians residents in the country, said the ongoing fresh investigation by the EFCC is to establish incontrovertible cases against those who might have committed offences for the anti-graft agency to charge them to court.
“The EFCC is working on the report, so we must give them the chance to do their job. We have to build water-tight cases if we hope to get any conviction for any wrongdoing, and the law demands proof,” president Jonathan said.
