“We pushed each other and we’re happy,” Usain Bolt stated after the race he finished in 19.32 seconds.
Officially, Bolt is now the first person in the history of the Olympics to win the 100m and 200m events back to back in two consecutive games.
"I’m now a living legend," he said, "now I am going to sit back, relax and think about what’s next.”
Confirming he'll be around for a lot longer, Bolt said: "I am not ready to retire. I love this sport. I don’t know what I really want to do after this, whether to run the 100 or 200 or try something else.
"I need to find a goal that’s going to motivate me to great things. The rest of the season I am just going to have fun because I did what I came here to do."
It was a clean sweep for his country, Jamaica. His compatriots, Yohan Blake, won silver while Warren Weir claimed bronze.
