This incident is very troublesome and hard to believe. In fact, am hoping it's not true. What makes the story more controversial is the fact that it is being linked to the retirement controversy going on in the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG.
Despite call by certain pastors in the church to Pastor Enoch Adeboye to retired from active pastoral work, the man of God has indicated that he would do as at "the right time".
However, one of the news in City People magazine says the overzealousness of some ambitious pastors in the church (RCCG) over their insistence that Pastor Adeboye resigns as the General Overseer of the church is taking another turn.
According to the news, which Olufamous.com could not confirm independently, the revered man of God recently survived an attempt on his life through food poisoning and it is believed not to be unconnected with the retirement controversy.
Since Pastor Adeboye, popularly called Daddy G.O. turned 70 in March this year, some pastors have been putting pressure on the revered man of God to vacate the post in compliance with the church for any serving official to retire when they clock 70 years of age.

ReplyDeleteThe pastors who want Daddy G.O. to retire ought to know that they have the right to break a new ground by starting a new church known as "THE NEW RCCG" rather than relying on the already developed RCCG to achieve their aims.

ReplyDeletePapa G O should be careful because they can try other means. Today, we don't really know if Bishop Benson Idahosa was killed off by pastors close to him. We also heard the rumour of how Pastor S O Folahan of CAC died after food poisoning. He also had a disagreement with some pastors and went on a visit that finished him off. He did not survive the operation.
