Things are not the same any more! Gone are the days when men and women "of integrity" think their actions through before making a move.
According to report, a pastor with the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, in the Enerhen area of Delta State, recently set himself ablaze to escape the shame of his illicit affair.
It was gathered that the decision of the Pastor, simply identified as Pastor Celestine, to take his life was because he allegedly impregnated a choir in his parish whose name is given as Rose.
It was learnt that he pleaded with Rose to abort the pregnancy which she refused blatantly as she did not want to lose her life during the abortion. He gave her a cheque for N2,000,000, which she refused, even after explaining to her that her refusal to abort the pregnancy may lead to the fall of the parish.
After all efforts to get Rose to abort the pregnancy failed, he reportedly drove himself to Udu bridge under which he lit himself and was burnt to death. He was married and had a 2 month old baby from his wife of two years.

MR K, do not judge anyone. he could be born again but no one is immuned to temptation, even our Lord Jesus Christ was tempted. David, withh all his love for God committed the sin of adultery and murder, so any flesh can be tempted. We must keep praying for the grace to overcome temptations when they come. The pastor should not have committed suicide, that is what closed his case.

ReplyDeleteDavid in the Bible did same act and humbled himself for forgiveness and God not only forgave him but also immortalised his name as 'a man after God's own heart'. The problem we have among so many people today is that of pride, where some one cannot say sorry for his mistakes but will rather go ahead to commit more wickedness. Killing himself is as a result of pride. He used to be a teacher of the law who must have known the merciful nature of God, why not humble himself and ask God for forgiveness. ReplyDeleteThe suicide is a worse sin than the adultery he committed before. He should have repented and faced the shame in this world so that his soul be delivered. But with this suicide, is that not a straight raod to hell?
